heard about this on a productivity podcast. basically you create 'recipes' which combine 2 functions of your virtual life.
for example: if you add a picture to your iphone, then it will automatically be uploaded to drop box.

im just getting started but so far have:
- if its going to rain tomorrow, then text me
- if i text #callme, then

gotta love conditionals. i want to hear of some more useful ones, but so far this is really neat imo.

I have no fucking idea what the hell this is even supposed to do. Went to their site and clicked learn more, and they don't even tell you make it clear what the hell it's use is. It just talks about "ingredients" and "triggers"

If I am tagged in a photo on face book then create a status update for me

So every time you're tagged in a photo you get a a status update?

There's an app called AutomateIt on the Play Store, which does kind of the same thing.
This is more personal though. Very cool idea.

Went on the site and it made a lot more sense, seems pretty cool. A more powerful version of this could really improve operating system interfaces on smart phones in the future. If we could get Siri/S Voice to work fluidly though all applications they would be so much more useful

I understand the concept and how it could be useful to some people spending a looot of time social networking, but since I'm not one of them I don't think I could use this.

Anyway, could you guys provide some practical examples of how this could be of use to you ? (other than those used on the website)

i heard of a guy with chrones disease who used it to 1. take a picture of what he eats with instagram, then 2. get a text 2 hours later reminding him to consider how that meal made him feel. I have UC and could see how this would come in handy during a flare.

i know there arent a lot of websites currently available on here, mostly social networking sites. but if they could manipulate it to work with any website you wanted it would be handy. ex: school work updates

this is so fucking dumb. Maybe you're just over simplifying it with your examples, but IF you have chrons disease and you cant remember what you ate two hours before THEN you're a dumbass
