As the title says, here I take you through the entire process I use to renew an old dry sintered base. Same process for fixing base burn as well. If you have a beat up extruded base this will get it back in shape as well, just it's not about wax absorption for an extruded base.
Yes, I thought about where to post these type of videos. It seemed to me it wasn't really "gear talk". This is rather an instructional video. So it could be any gear.
Also it's funny when people comment just after I post a 34 minute video. I know those above could not have even watched the whole thing. Again, if one wants to learn anything, one must watch and listen to the entire video.
My goal as far as these instructional videos goes here on NS is to help out all the youngers and others who have not had the years of expierance that I have had. I often wished that I knew more a long time ago. Now a begining tuner can learn way ahead of the curve. I try to make it easy to understand evey time I make one. A good tune will make sure that your skis are not holding you back. Trust me, it makes all the differeance.

I might post this to "Gapic Ski " one day. I have made post there in the past. I have found many there to be a bit stuffy, but some really good folks too. The fact is, I feel more "at home" here on NS. I am young at heart and freeskiing parksters are my type of people. Therefore I would rather help them by statring this here.
A full on tune can take hours for sure. It can take longer for a used pair of skis. I like to make my tuning videos "real". That means showing the whole deal with talk to help one understand. One can't learn much from a 2.5 min. tuning video.

Yea, I think I have an account there. Anyway when one does a search on the net they can find the video easy enough. They might find it from the conversation here and be directed here, or go directly to my YT channel. If someone from there likes it enough, they can embed it themselves there at TGR.
Again, my heart is with the PRS infected "kids" who ride park. That why I wanted to share it here. Everyone has to start somewhere. Then the next thing you know they are at some huge comp. or The X-Games. If I can help a few Parksters then I have done my pay back.

Thanks A-Man. It was a pleasure to help you out with those two pairs of skis last season. You know the proof is in the pudding now. I felt so good when you told me that Tashi said he could not believe how fast your skis were running, We all know that Tashi is a killer for real too!

I will assume that "sick" means good! Thanks. I just want to help all those who are wanting to progress. This can really help one who has some skis that have been neglected.
When it comes to ski maintenance I am a bit sick about it. Maybe even a bit anal! ;-)
I guess you can pay for a machine tune. True there is money to be spent. I never put crappy tires on my sports car. One also don't usually run a Lambo through an automatic car wash!
If you really want to ski a lot for years, it's a good investment.
Then again so many bases are extruded these days like Dynastar and Rossi just to name a few. Who cares about extruded bases.
Then again if one has a sintered base, it's good to know how to do this. Can end up better than a grind many times over.
