Porn to be banned in the UK

"Most households in the UK will have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless they choose to receive it, David Cameron has announced."

Apparently 95% of ISP have agreed already, which means most people are fucked, sure you can always "opt-out" of it, but that's just admittance to your family(wife/parents/children/husband whatever) that you watch porn... not exactly my cup of tea.

A lot of idiocy going on here, a user on reddit summed it up perfectly, but I can't seem to find it anymore, I'll throw it up if I find it. Obviously this won't eliminate people watching it, but for the average user they won't know what to do.

It's just a family filter guys. Google ha had it for years. It's just a case of turning it off. It's to stop households with small kids being able to access unsuitable stuff. Nothing is really changing its just that the option will be on by default now rather then family's having to turn it on.

but in all seriousness, for anyone who knows how to use a computer, this should not be a big problem. Chances are something like spotflux will even work, or some vpn. And if that doesn't work, then tor with a couple of bridges and a sticker on your webcam will do perfectly (well, if u have a shit connection, then it'll take ages to download but...)

You dont even need a vpn, just use AnonymoX, it's a Forefox plugin that works basically like a VPN but not as tricky.

^ they are not banning porn, they are banning the more dodgy stuff which I would think most people would agree with. The other part is just getting ips to put a family filter on by default. Most family's would have had this any way and if you want to you can just turn it off. Nothing is really changing.
