Remounting a Binding so it will be dead center?

Hey NS,

I've been looking around the forums and finally found the ski I want with nice bindings for a great price. One problem, the ski is mounted at the classic stance as opposed to the Progressive stance. I have no idea why the owner decided to mount a Park Ski at classic, but I can't change what's already done. My question to you ski-tech guys is; Can I remount the bindings so that they are at dead center without effecting the performance of the ski in the short/long run by damaging it. I'm hoping that I can take the skis to my local REI and have them remount the ski, and not have to go through any complications.

The Ski in question is the Salomon Suspect and the Bindings on it currently are Marker Griffins.

Only the tech at the shop will know once hes unskrewed the binding, they cant be closer than half an inch I believe but Im pretty sure an inch apart is where you want it. Sorry but you wont know till the tech takes a peek, if he can't ask him if putting in quiver killers would help. hope this helps

I've never owned suspects, but from reading around it would appear progressive is -2.5 from true centre. Bearing this in mind, I would be very suprised if you had any trouble moving you bindings from classic mounting point to true centre. Also with you question about a remount damaging the integrity of the ski, - skis are normally good for three mounts.
