Where can i ski in wisconsin?

i am in green bay, wisconsin for work for 6 months or so. i know its still summer but can anyone tell me where i can look forward to skiing at? how far or close the places are, which place has the best parks, and the names of some ski shops i can check out in this area or somewhat close to it

About 90 miles west in Wausau , is granite peak . About 700' vertical . Big park , a few drop in small chutes , great trees when the snow us served up ! There's some good skiing in the UP too, but for closer proximity , granite peak rocks as a Midwestern hill ! Think big and dream even bigger!

Mt. Bohemia in the UP for real tree skiing and most westernstyle of skiing in the midwest otherwise granite peak is tight. Watch the snow before goin to mt bohemia tho.

Granite will become you home mountain. Just a quick 1hr 15mins drive away. Great midwest skiing as mentioned above! Multiple parks and great trees and small cliffs/chutes. Plenty of lifts to keep lines small. Marquette is about three hours away and is bitching too, bohemia is worth the drive is the snow is deep! They can get some crazy 3 foot plus snow cycles due to the lake effect! No grooming either!

Check out the Wisconsin regionals forum! Its super active with tons of kids stoked on the midwest!!

As stated above, Granite Peak is pretty much your best bet. It has probably the best park in wisconsin, if not the whole midwest. As for shops i'd check out Les Moise in Brookfield (milwaukee area). I know this is probably not as close as you were hoping but its a really great shop that knows its stuff about freeskiing. I think theres some places in wausau too, but im not sure how knowledgeable they are in newschool skiing.

Coming a former Les Moise employee for 4.5 years that moved out west, they are the premiere shop in WI/IL

Granite Peak, Marquette and Bohemia like said above. For Green Bay shops check out Zeller's. They're some cool guys.

I went to college at NMU, back in the day. Marquette used to have an INSANE park. I haven't been there in about 9 years though, so I cant comment about it now. Granite Peak, has seriously wicked parks. Notice I said parks. They usually have 3-4 parks around the mountain with great jib features, and nice jump lines.
Hands down, Bohemia is the best place to ski in the midwest. No comparison. The kicker is the snow. They do get hammered with lake effect, however with the crazy fluctuation of temperatures the midwest sees, it really hits Bohemia the hardest because they have no snow making. When they do have snow it cant be beat. I have had many great powder days there....They have a 1 day special every year for season passes. $100.

Granite is great. I am from Milwaukee, WI, so where I choose to ski at is Alpine, Sunburst, Granite, Big Powderhorn are great for you.

WISCOMPTON threadz....

Milwaukee is a bit of a drive from Green Bay, but check out The Rock (formerly Crystal Ridge) in Franklin, WI (south side suburb of Milwaukee).  A group just put over 10 million into it and it looks like this year it will be about 85-90% park.  Should be good.  Heading back for xmas to check it out.  Info:

YEZZ^ The Rock is my home hill only 2 miles away, and last year they had some start up problems with the new owners, the lift was completly unsafe, with the chance of it unlocking and flying backwards last year haha. So the new owners ordered the parts they needed to make it safe, but the parts had to be fabricated in Switzerland, so we had no lift last year. But this year the lift will be haulin, we got brand new rail packages from Arena Snowparks last year, plus new ones being fabricated right now. Over a dozen brand new PoleCat cannons, and a Piston Park Bully Cat. This year is gonna be sick, planning on having a jumpline with 25', 35', and 45'ers, a skicross course, and the talk is were gettin an airbag! Also got Gravity Logic in this spring, and they built us a Gravity Bike Park, with sick flow trails, a blue and black jumpline trail, and awesome feature trails.

Yeah like it has been said granite peak. They have a really good park and a pretty good jump line. Have some awesome deals if you go during the week after 4 if you don't get a season pass. Hit it the first time this weekend psyched for them to get the park finished/started
