Does the type of PVC make a difference in slipperiness? I know diameter makes a differences, but like is there a difference between blue, white or black Pvc/Abs?
This is true, but much of the time, the black pipe is not schedule 40 PVC. It is actually usually ABS, which doesn't seem to do as well when it is not buried. It is softer, but tends to break easier when you use it for a rail. I would stick with the White Schedule 40 PVC, just so you don't make the mistake of getting ABS. If you feel like you need to know more about what ABS is, google black abs pipe.
