Searched it, found it under the wrong forum, so I thought I would bring it up here, why not have a chat function on NS?

Personally I don't see any problem with the message function and feel a chat function would be redundant.

It should definitely be in "forum/thread" form, with you being able to see all previous exchanges with the person

But you already can do that. In the messge function you can see all previous exchanges with people and you can message any member on the site. I just dont see any need to have a second version of whats already being provided by messages.

It won't be a second version. It'll be a replacement. And yes, you can see the previous exchanges, however not like a "thread".

A chat that encompasses everyone on NS with say..100 minimum post count? That'd be pretty cool. Just have a small drop down menu where one of the ads are.

Maybe test it for a week or two, but then again, I'm sure this is one of those things that seems easy to program but is very difficult.
