If anybody knows of a good camera for shooting edits, and taking action shots I would really appreciate it if you could let me know about it. Im thinking of a canon or something but any input helps. Thanks
Media & Arts Forum will give you better answers but you need to be more specific. I'll help out with what I can conjure up though.
If you only want to shoot video, and you really couldn't care less about photography, just get a camcorder. So many kids will go out and buy a dslr, when they could spend half the money for the same image quality with a camcorder.
Sony Handycams are good, and a Panasonic TM700 with be great if you can find it somewhere. If you want something with a manual focus ring you'll have to pay more, but you can do your own research. I had a Canon Vixia HF R300 for a while, it treated me well. I'm pretty sure the HF R400 is out now and it does 1080p at 60FPS. Don't quote me on that though. Just do some research.
If you really do want a DSLR and you do care about photography and interchangeable lenses, most people with tell you to get a T2i, T3i, 60D, or a GH2. The 70D just came out and it looks very nice though, but quite pricey. I have a 60D and it's good for me because it's more durable than a T3i and that was worth the money for ME. You may have different preferences.
In short, do some research and find out what you NEED, not what will make you look cool on the hill.
