What Laptop are you guys rocking?

I got my sony Vaio S series 15 laptop about a month ago and I'm still absolutely loving the thing. It's fast, light and looks good for the eyes too. Very nice screen resolution and backlit chiclet keyboard.

also have a Vaio and love it. only complaint is the screen. colours aren't the best.

has USB 3.0
6 hour battery life
hardware controlled sound
decent wireless card
all the ports I need


and got it for $500 6 months ago. and after 6 months the battery is still at 97% capacity. which is very decent.

kickass boxing day sale. also it was right when about 1/2 the comps still had Windows 7 and half with 8, so because it was 'outdated' with Windows 7 the price was knocked down another hundred or two.

Lenovo B570 laptop. Only had it for almost a year, and I have had no issues with it. Windows 7 operating system, Intel Pentium software, 15.6 in. display, Windows Live Movie Maker built in to the memory (the editing software is meh), card reader built in, and it's really good for schoolwork and making skiing videos.

It's overkill really, but I made sure that I have a machine that can handle any engineering program that I throw at it, and everyone really loves the keyboard!

you do realize that the exact same hardware you get in a Mac you can get in a PC, right?

I'm thinking of getting a
Macbook air 13"
1.3 ghz haswell processor(turbo's to 2.6)
8gb ram
500gb ssd
intel 5000 graphics
that'll be like $1,600

might also get an external hdd for pictures videos etc.

I'm also looking for a pc laptop with similar or better specs but can't really find one
main things are I want a ssd with enough space and I really loathe windows 8

anyone that can find a pc with above specs and stuff will get +k and I'll love you always and forever

I'm going into computer engineering and can't tell so far if one os would be better than another at this point; I'm still asking around though.
