So personally I would rather see a super blunted 5 tail, than a sloppy 10 that some kid barely hucked off a tiny jump. What does NS think?

To be honest I'd rather see Jossi wells do a steezy ass switch zero spin then watch kenworthy do whatever double cork sloppiness he does. That's just my opinion. Style over tech for me 100%

I think of a "tech" trick as a difficult spin with a difficult grab (unnaty, switch, double grabs, screamin seaman, genie...ect.)

I would defiantly say that a zero spin is for sure a "tech" trick, I might get some disagreement on that, but we all know how announcers always have to explain how Difficult a zero spin is.

I agree, that was when he first started doing dub 14s. Now he has them so on lock, he was doing them in his sleep during big air this year after crashing super hard from the switch trip attempt during finals. Here's an insane edit, one of my favorites personally, that really shows how fucking smooth Gus is. And it was only filmed in a day and a half!

why would you waste a run in a comp doing a stylish trick that won't win when you could do a triple instead. Save the cool looking tricks for filming.

i recall a comment Sean Jordan said a while back during an interview. i wont quote it, because i don't believe its word for word i won't quote. he said style is your way of doing a trick thousands of other kids can do. i felt he was spot on with that analogy. i love style, but i also love to see tech tricks. mainly because a lot more people cant do those. its cool to see someone throw a dub whatever, because you don't see that as often as a blunt 5. for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15aStdsSwDw

Make technical tricks look stylish. Skiing is fun when you're learning new tricks, nothing is going to look stylish at first. There's nothing worse than someone who squats down on a rail over and over again in an edit and calls it a "stylish tail press/nose press".
