Good afternoon Newschoolers :-)
I was thinking on behalf of my skiing today (like there's ever a time when I'm not) and I was wondering about how effective a Newschoolers app would be. There are several pros and cons to this situation, but I believe it would be a solid addition to the site.
Pros: All skiers know that if your truly dedicated to skiing, then you don't spend too much of your time inside during the winter. You're out there, shredding the powder and running laps in the park. This can leave little time to upload your latest and greatest moments and share them with the Newschoolers community. A Newschoolers app would be a great way to catch up on the latest ski news, videos, and pictures on the mountain. Whether you're eating lunch, on the lift, or snagging a quick picture of the rolling backcountry pillows you're about to conquer, an app could get them out on the Web as you shred your way down.
Cons: Remember when Facebook and Twitter came out with apps for Apple and Android devices? Well, if you don't, people sure spent a lot of time with their faces buried in their phones, and there wasn't a place where you couldn't see little bright screens filled with tweets and constantly updated statuses. This may take away some of that exlusive web site-style of Newschoolers that we all know and love. But other than this, I don't see too many problems with creating a simple, easy app for mobile uploads.
Thank you for your time Newschoolers, would love to here your opinion as well.
Cheers
