My dog does the same thing if I'm outside for 30 minutes. Dogs do not know time they just know you are gone, so sick of seeing these videos every where. I get it you joined the army because 1 you couldn't go to college or 2 you want the army to pay for your shitty community college associate degree. The world doesn't have to know your dog is happy to see you because they are always happy to see you come home whether it be from across the globe for 2 years , or from the store for 30 minutes.
