How to stop tie dye from bleeding like a mother fucker

jiberish x saga tank just came... i hand washed it in cold water like they suggested...all whites have turned pink and colors are all muted....any tips on how to salvage this

yeah I feel like putting some vinegar in the wash makes the colors not run. It was either that or bleach.

i thought it was common sense not to wash colors with whites..... and common knowledge to especially not wash brand new dyed fabrics with brighter colors.... especially white.


maybe thats just me though?


wash it a few times solo in the sink (cold), let it soak and hand wash thoroughly, itll get rid of the excess dye but wont fade the colors

but dont do this now or you'll set the colors as they are.

Maybe bleach-- it will get your whites white again, but it will fade the brights.

Hydrogen peroxide works on blood stains-- try using it on the pink areas that you want white again-- its worth a shot.

no i washed the tank by hand, in the sink, with cold water. I'm saying the colored areas of the tank bled onto the whites, so now the entire thing is pink..... also i was supposed to get a tee, but the ended up shipping me a tank...i sent them an email

its soda ash or soaking it in cold water with several cups of vinegar

basically the tank used to look like the tee.... also since i was supposed to get 2 tee's they offered to swap out the tank for any tee in the store, fuckin love their customer service. i just hope they'll still swap it out since i washed itClick for larger image

Just decide if you want to keep it or return it. They will let you return it. If they don't they're assholes. The clothing should come pre-washed or at least rinsed in vinegar to seal the dye. Unless there were specific washing instructions that you didn't follow they should let you return it.

yup. it just looks more like an acid wash tee than tye dye. i guess it was good that it only had one color of dye on it
