We need to stop paying professional athletes so much money...
that would be so cool, we could have social services free for everyone, get monthly checks to those who cant hold a job, and we could pay for it all by taxing people a percentage based on what they make!
we could call it SOCIALISM, meh to bad that could never exist
i wasnt talking about healthcare and unemployment benefits. i know you were joking, but lets keep it at topic.
the US are as far away from a socialist country as a civilized country can be. in fact, when were talking about 1st world countries, i think the US definitely hold that distinction.
i always like when people bring up "communism/socialism doesnt work, the soviet union collapse showed that". how many times did our high-level markets fail? how often were billions and billions of dollars DESTROYED? not shifted or moved elsewhere, plain and simple destroyed. but we continue to support capitalism because it supports in turn our constant greedy quests. a change in financial policy, worldwide, is needed.
"but rubbersoul, im a fucking idiot and i want to argue this with you" please don't bother, i just wanted to add that in cause some people really are out to lunch enough to think that
This statement is foolish in countless ways, including the implications that rich people are better people or that those players don't earn their money. Basically all around retarded, well done.
I think it is silly that some players will leave a thriving team which they have played for for years just to turn a 10 mil/year contract into 11 or 12 mil/year.
Example: Albert Pujols
maybe I'm just a butt hurt Cardinals fan though...
