my cousin had lasik eye surgery about a year ago and he loves it. he suggests it to many people

I haven't but both my parents and my sister have had It and they live by it. No complications and it was awesome for them.

My buddy had it done and he loves it. He thinks I'm an idiot for being terrified of having it done myself. My eyesight isn't that shitty so I think I'm going to stick with glasses for now.

The idea of never wearing contacts or glasses again is tempting, but the risk of something going wrong isn't worth my eyesight. In terms of medical procedures Lazio is still in infancy. I realize thousands do it every day with no issues, but I won't be the 1.

My mom had lasik when she used to have the worst vision that was close to being blind and her vision improved.

My mom had lasik. Her vision improved to 20/20 for many years (I think 6). She now needs glasses for reading, but thats it. She is 58 now so it is probably normal for her eye sight to being to deteriorate again. I would assume the results are better and longer lasting the younger you are.

I've had glasses since I was 4, they just get so fucking annoying with stuff like sleeping, skiing, any sports. My eyes are so fucked not contact companies can make a prescription strong enough and still be able to fit in an eye. I'm definitely going to get it at some point in the near future.

my fiance had it and after it was over wished she had done it much sooner. she was blind without glasses or contacts but now lives like a normal person. im not sure what kind of lasik but could probably find out- what are the choices?

when she went back a day or so later for a followup to the procedure they noticed a slight infection of her eyeball where they peeled it back. gave her some magic eyedrops and made her come back a few times the next week or two to check on it but no real complications.

i would definetly want it cause contatcs everyday suck, but my eyes arent that bad. is there like a certain point your eyes needd to be past for it to work?

Not necessarily, they reshape the cornias or whatever i cant really remember, but the point is you have to have enough "stuff" in there to begin with or else they cant do it for you.

I don't feel inconvenienced by wearing glasses and contacts, so I'm personally not getting lasik. Years from now if I'm bugged by it, I'll do it.

I've been considering it solely for whitewater kayaking. I've had my contacts get knocked out by splashes of water leaving me practically blind in gnarly whitewater, which is freaking scary. My roommate's dad had Lasik done for the same reason (paddling) when he was younger and swears by it. As said above, he needs reading glasses but that's not a huge deal at all in my opinion.

My moms an optomoligist who regularly gives lasik, she highly recommends it and says it's a very safe procedure if you have a good doctor.
