Anyone worn or tried this? I had never seen it until tonight (I am definitely not on top of what gears comes out when any more). Anyone with an opinion either way please chime in
This helmet has been in the European range for a couple of years now, and for 12/13 North America started bringing in the protection range. The Xeed line of helmets features a hybrid construction of in-mold (to save weight) and ABS (to provide durability) along with adjustable venting and size adjuster.
In terms of construction, it is similar to the Smith Variant as that and a few others on the market use a hybrid construction. I think Boeri was the first to do it back in 2003. In terms of safety, all certified helmets sold in the USA pass the ASTM safety certification, so there is no difference in safety. But where they are going to be different is fit, so (as with ski boots) make sure you try before you buy.
