Jeffrey vs Bibby

Ski Jackson and Targhee primarily. Looking for a daily driver. Sounds weird, but want to keep my Night Trains justifiably in the quiver. I'm 5'10" 170lbs and aggressive as piranha with down syndrome. I do consider what I do most days as "freeriding".

This ski would replace my JJ. I like jib-dibbin' around as well as having to be at work at 5:30am on Sunday with some sleepy drugs in my eyes as I type this. However, I also like charging fast, dippin' over cliffs, feelin' sideways on a pillow-line, backscratchingscratchers, and feeling completely stable. I'm really, REALLY bored of how the JJ feels and almost made my Night Trains my daily driver last year because of it, but it was almost, almost impossible to do.

I wouldn't be looking at the new, more powder oriented Bibby coming this year. I would be looking at the 2013/14 Jeffrey, since that's the only way I can possibly get a pair. I can get an alright deal on last year's Bibby's in the size I want and everythanggg. I feel like the 184 Bibby would feel better as a daily driver than the 190. I'm rambling, but God dammit, I want some fucking opinions. These are the only two skis I'm really looking at. I might consider the PB&J, but I would have to buy this years (which looks DOPE), since they're impossible to find right meow too.

I'm not set on keeping the Night Trains in the quiver, but I would really like too, just because I feel like it would be a waste to only have one season with those sick, condescending bastards.

I think you should go with the jeffrey out of these two. especially if you plan on keeping your night trains. They are both pretty versitile, but the jeffrey will handle hardpack a little better. However, if you are tired of the way the JJ skis, you might want to look at some other skis because these will probably be fairly similar. I think a ski like the Faction 3 zero might be a good change while still alowing you to ski the way you want to.

as a previous JJ owner, and a jeffery rider I can vouch that this statement is totally false. Jefferys blow JJs out of the water in exactly every way. Better in pow, trees, chop, chunder, park, rails, groomers, ice, everything. I fucking hate JJs. They are about as stable as my psycho ex-girlfriend. Fuck that ski.

OP, buy jefferys, but take it with a grain of salt. I'm obviously very biased

I believe it is 'more' directional in the 190, which is not the one I'm looking at.
I'm not 100% about that though.

I just overpowered them. They didn't really excel in anything and they were super unstable. Once I started riding beefier skis after my stint with jjs, I was much more satisfied. That and the durability of their bases was garbage even with regular waxing.

Since you already have a bidirectional twin-rockered fatty, why don't you get a more directional charger to avoid quiver overlap? Something in the billy goat/hoji/renegade genre. Or you could sell your night trains and your JJ's and buy a bidirectional powder charger that can still funtion as a daily driver. Something like the 191 caylors I'm conveniently selling at a more than reasonable price...

Hahah. No worries. I'd take a big hit selling both skis and trying to get a two ski quiver again with how I am with money now. I always wanted to try the Caylors though.

It is! I just got some bibbys near the end of the year and so far I love them. They are awesome on hard pack for the size, stable as can be at high speeds and you can stomp anything. I havent skied them in pow yet but Im sure theyre great .

Haha Im 6 foot, I got the 190, I ski in the pacific northwest and most of my days on the bibby were at crystal. Go ahead and ask more!

I can't really find a good deal on previous season Bibby's anymore. It might come down to the Jeffrey vs PB&J this fall.

184's are out of stock. I'm also barely 5'10, Soo I dunno about 190's.

They measure more like 188. I'm 5'11" and ride 191 caylors and have no problems with them being too long, and caylors measure true to size. I say go for them; the rocker will make them ski a lot shorter and if you can drive them, you'll be rewarded by the extra stability and float and crud busting ability.
