Tips for smoother slomo

just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for smoother slomo. some of the top edits out there are ridiculously smooth, is this simply a product of a high frame rate, or is there anything special you can do?

can you post some examples of the "ridiculously smooth" slow mo? need to know what you're talking about exactly. Could be twixtor, could be high frame rates, could be 60fps "conformed" to 24p

its from high frame rates. Most cameras shoot 60fps now, but cameras like the fs700 and red cameras shoot up to 300fps.

ha, just the person i wanted to see. are you only shooting 60 or are you shooting higher?

and to respond to the other post, there's a bunch of examples, but off the top of my head:

Those are all 60fps I believe I conformed them to 24p making them 40% speed. You can just edit in a 60p timeline and adjust from 40-99% speed.

how exactly did you conform em? unfortunately I use FCE which doesn't allow a 60 timeline, footage is shot with 60 but even with twixtor it looks like shit going below 70-80% unless hardly anything is going on in the shot...
