Fixing cracked screens

SO I cracked the screen on my iPhone 4 pretty bad. I cahtted with Apple tech support to see what I could do to fix it and they said I could send it in and have them fix it for $200. Well since thats not going to happen do you guys have any suggestions on what to do? if so please tell me

And no i do not want to fix it myself, because that could risk me doing further damage to my phone

Get an otter box or any case with a piece of protective plastic over the screen. It will keep all of the shards of glass from falling out. Worked great for me!

there's normally people around cities that fix phones for cheaper than companies. Like, my dad got his phone that telus told him was unusable, fixed by a guy named Pinapples (I shit you not, that is his legitimate name, business card and all.)

Just google it or some shit.

man, the iphone 4 has to be the biggest bitch of a phone to replace the screen on. there are damn near 30 tiny fucking screws that you have to take out to swap out the lcd/digitizer/glass. you literally have to disassemble the entire fucking phone to fix it. honestly, i'd be damn surprised if you're able to find anyone who is willing to do it for less than $100 + parts.

that being said, it is possible to fix it yourself if you've got a small bit of technical expertise and some time. there are youtube videos that will walk you through the repair step by step. you should be able to get a new screen off of amazon for about $60.

Find someone in your area that fixes phone screens, my roommate used to fix iphone3gs/4/4s screens for $30 + cost of screen (usually $15-20).

Find somebody in your area that replaces the glass. Also while you're at it, you can have them swap the color of the background. My friend had a yellow iPhone 4S for most of last year. Not super cool but it didn't cost too much extra and made his phone a little more unique
