The Life Steeze Media guys just posted this on their facebookpage. Not sure if I´d call it a flatspin but it sort of looks like a double 540

First of all, no "double" spin can be a 540 because thats not enough rotation.

A dub flat 7 (aka dub wack flp) is a 720 because each flp is 360 degrees. Dub flat 9 is the same thing but to switch at the end.


That being said, this shot is basically a fucked up dub flat 9, its more like dub underflip 9 since hes pretty much flipping sideways, but it seems like it was his frist try (might be wrong) and just threw his axis weird, which is why he fell.

I have always known that a double has to consist of 2 360 degree rotations, that is why I said it "sort of" looked like a double 540.

Btw could it be a wackflip to a pretzel underflip? Just watching that trick makes me confused

He dips his right shoulder and spins right.


Rodeo/flat 5 = dip left shoulder, spin left, dip right shoulder spin right. The same thing goes for underflips, if you dip your right shoulder, you spin out of it to the right.

This guy dips is right shoulder, does a weird backflip/flatspin/lincoln and like 45 degrees of rotation then he does another but spins the rest of the 180 out of that flip. There is nothing special about this trick, he fell because he was on such an odd axis.

I think I see where the confusion starts with this trick.


He sets a flat 3 like you would a left flat 3, but he doesnt finish it like a flat 3. (aka wack flip) He leans back to the left but then flips under, vs rotating around his head and coming out and spinning left (which is why life steeze posted "pretzel" dub 540). he sets like hes doing a flat but then he tucked his head under his body like an underflip and then continuted his rotation and did a second underflip.

He never starts spinning left, he sets a flat 3 like he would spin left but his overall rotation is always to the right


BUT this trick they speak of kind of has happened before. Last WCS, bmos was doing dub flats and he set a left dub flat 7 but then spun out of it to the right, its really weird haha.


Either way, a trick is never a dub 540 even if he did a dub cork 7 and shiftied to 540 at the end, it would be dub 7 pretzel 180. You don't call a 2 on pretzel 2 on a rail a straight slide...

English is not my first language so I may be interpreting this the wrong way. When you say you dip your shoulder you mean you lean, right? Because when you do a rodeo 5 (or more for that matter) you lean to one side and spi to the other. When I set a rodeo I lean to the right (slightly backwards but to the right) and I end up spining 180 to the left. Underflips are the opposite. Lean to one side and spin in the same direction (Uphill).  What I´m getting at is that when he did the first wack/flat 3 he leand to his right but rotated to the left. And the second flip could very well be some kind of underflip.

I dont know, maby I´m just too tired

What if you did flat 5 to a real backflip, no wackflip shit, would you count the rotation in the backflip? No says backflip 360 or dub back 720...

As I said in my previous post, he sets a left flat 3 but then never spun left, he came out of the flip and was 45 degrees to the right and dipped his head into the underflip.

Like I said, very confusing trick.

i used to do the single (5) version of this on diving boards, and CR johnson does one in a segment... maybe in happy dayz or wski106, i forget

anyway, weird trick, "seems" like you should spin left at the end but yeah idk i can't figure it out. felt really weird so i did them on diving boards a lot but never gave them much thought

all im saying is that it's a similar rotation to the second half of OP's trick...as you said:

just saying it could be interpreted as a clockwise sideflipish thing, but spins right, whereas we're used to spinning left out of a clockwise sideflipish rotation

If you want to count the flips as a rotation it'd be a 9

guys this is just a flat 3 to underflip 5...

There is no pretzel, it shouldn't even give the illusion of a pretzel because if you watch it you will see a fluid under flip 5 rotation in the second flip.

This. It's just a double Lincoln but take off his different looking because he kind of 90's in like he is going to do an underflip, but then 90's back. His axis is closer to a lincoln than a flat. The 180 at the end happens sometimes when you aren't square coming out of your lincoln. So basically, one shoulder is ahead and it seems easier to 180 out.

his knees go over his left shoulder. Therefore you would expect for the extra 180 on the end of a double flat 9 to spin from left. But as you can see, as he come out of his double 720 for the 900, he is spinning right. And so this is an air pretzel
