I have a Samurai sword, it's very useful. It's great for disciplining my girlfriend. Though I never strike her with it, the fear of losing a limb is powerful enough for her to make me a sandwich.

buy throwing knives. they actually require skill to throw, thus giving you a reason to throw them all the time. And they are easier to conceal, therefore allowing you to take them into public in case of a hairy situation. They double as a pocket knife. Most come with a totally badass hip holster. AND Leonardo, the ninja turtle, DOMINATED with them.

Trust me, best 20 bucks I spent last summer. Especially when I got super drunk at work and threw one thru the stove glass door in the kitchen.

I dunno man, I have one of these and although a samurai sword is cool, they can't chop down a tree or really serve any purpose BUT cutting someone. These are like lightweight whippable axes, and would remove a leg/arm/face in the blink of an eye and are also quite useful in the woods. Also only $25.

Dude I'd rather have that than an axe in all honesty. It's lighter and easier to swing, chops exactly like an axe would on bigger trees and also handles branches and arms/legs with ease that an axe would be useless for but a machete would work on. It's also about 10lbs lighter than an axe and cuts waaaaaaaaay better than a machete.

It is literally the perfect ski trial clearing tool. After doing it for a few years and going through a bunch of different equpiment, all I bring with me nowadays is this, a lightweight chainsaw for the big shit and a pair of ratcheting loppers.

And it's murdered out.

you need the weight of an axe though... thats why they are so heavy. They more weight, the more effective they are at chopping and pounding.
To prove it scientifically, F=ma. acceleration will stay the same. So larger mass, larger force.

Unless you're chopping down trees a ton, carrying it's silly. Even if you are, a chainsaw is far superior for the same weight. Axes are just dumb for that shit, especially hiking while doing all that stuff. But hey if you want to use one knock yourself out man ;)
