The best skate video of all time

This may or may not be a re post....anyways I bet some of you have seen this, but i feel the need to share it. From a skateboarding standpoint, Austyn Gillette's style is quite unique...almost like Delorme or Gorham. From a cinematic standpoint, I think Quik is rather unique among skateboarding videos, its one of the few where cinematography seems to be a main concern, as well as attention to quality and composition. Basically, suck a dick sony vx1000 and fisheye lenses, i dont understand why skate filmers still use this stone age technology.

QUIK was good, but calling it the best skate video of all time, IDK. Actually calling any skate video the best of all time is just silly, there is just so much to pull from and it's constantly evolving...

Rereading your OP your obviously looking at this from the video side. I'm guessing you haven't seen pretty sweet, fully flaired, stay gold? All three and really any skate video from the late 2000's on had great art direction, skaters are incredibly creative people. Fun fact, people shot and still shoot VX because it has a much taller frame (4x3) than HD (16x9) which is especially good for follows. VX1000's, while it will always be a cult classic, really don't get used a whole lot in skating anymore, the majority is HD and has been for the last few years...

Every battle commander is amazing. Such sick skating.

Oh and David gonalez's Online part. Fucking dfd creeper is insane. The other sick one I was stoked in this year was willy spencer skate ninja video.

And vx1k's are sick because the skate edits those guys grew up with we're filmed on them. Same reason why snowboarders still worship the UBS as opposed to a red.

the only thing I can compare it to, skiing wise, is the JP Auclair All.I.Can Street Sement, rather similar IMO. And ill peep the link for sure, Gillette has a sick style

Yes "Best skate video of all time" was an exaggeration, the best skate video, is rather open to interpretation, there are so many videos from multiple decades to choose from. And I have seen fully flared and parts of pretty sweet. But idk...I just don't see the creativity and talent in fisheye follow cams. Although i fucking love mike mo's part in fully flared.

Not sure if filmed in Mexico or southern US...

Really fun to watch. I love how it's just so fast-paced. No lousy street tricks, just fully-gas blasting.

i really like both those edits. quik is awesome cuz it is a pretty unique style for follows on a skateboard and the red bull perspectives is just insane cinematography. the behind the scenes is awesome on that one.

Real impressed with the Natural Selection vid on thrasher with Dave bachinsky and Dan Murphy. More so with the skating than the filming but some nice east coast shit. Check it out
