Lots of people say between your eyebrows and bottom lip is where you want your ski tips to be. Preference is a big factor. Do you want to spin fast or slow with style?

Longer is better than shorter. I like my skis to be as tall as me, and if you take skis that are rocker or that have early rise, it's good to take them long because you'll find them really short if not

Depends what your doing on your skis Op. My powder skis are 186 and my park skis are 176. Looking into a daily driver at 180.
What are your using the skis for?

The eyebrow to lip rule is what we implement when people come in to rent skis. Reason being that if you're renting your skis, you're usually not that good. And if you are good, you'll know what size you want. That being said, if you're any good at skiing you should shoot for skis at eyebrow and above. For example, I have a pair of 181s and 185s. I'm 5'11"ish, so the 181s are pretty much exactly as tall as I am and the 185s are taller. If you're 5'9", 178s are perfect.

Perfect. Exactly my height and my ski length.

Im 5'8 and ski 174 K2 Domains and 186 ON3P jeffrey's. I can handle both fine and enjoy both inside and outside of the park. For a park ski something 175-180 would probably be prefect. However a lot of it has to do with preference as well.

Height has little to do with ski length. Weight and aggressiveness are your two biggest factors. As well as rocker vs. camber
