I know that Music is really opinionated but is there anyone else who finds almost every single edit using some dumb rap song. Its really getting old to me, almost everyone is starting to use bad rap. Don't get me wrong I like rap a lot, but some of this rap is just bad and people are using the same songs.
Seeing as how it's the only genre of music that I'm interested in these days, and I listen to everyone from EPMD to Waka Flocka, I can hardly agree with you OP. No, I really don't think there is such thing as "bad rap" because of how subjective music is, and no I don't feel like it will ever start to feel old, to me anyways.
Possibly, the only artists that I really have no respect for are those one hit wonders who try to continue to have careers, but just make mockeries of themselves, like Soulja Boy or the more recent Trinidad James. But then there's guys like Lil' B who I can't even try to listen to, so yeah you're right.
I personally think that some of the rap is complete crap, but some is complete crap. Personally I think a bit of old school is ok, 2pac, Biggie, Rakim, Wu-Tang, and more modern rappers such as Dumbfoundead that don't only rap about all of the generic crap others do.
Most songs by Biggie are about money, hoes, and dope dealing, and violence. He most definately rapped about all of the "generic crap". It's not what you say, it's how you say it, and the energy you bring to the table, which is why Biggie was massive, and why I can listen to some of these new trap god styles rappers.
yeah, i wasn't really thinking that through while writing it, i agree to a degree but i don't think i wrote what i meant very clearly, what i meant is songs with mindless repetitive lyrics such as "rack city" by Tyga from a while ago. Basically what i'm saying is i dislike repetitive, mindless songs.
Everyone keeps talking about bad rap like good rap actually exists. All rap is bad. OP, you're probably just getting older and realizing how downright shitty of a "music" genre it is.
actually today i noticed that more and more edits are drifting away from rap. i feel like the dramatic all slo mo edits are going to get completely over produced now though
