I've been offered jokingly by some of coaches I've known over the years but when you get into the cup games and tournaments everybody just assumes that their little johnny is going to kick the other team's ass all by himself. Not to say this to put myself up, but I'm as fair as a ref as I possibly can be, whether people like it or not. So I wouldn't have taken money anyways.

It is. I went there last summer and caught no hate or anything, just a bunch of nice people. I was in Rio De Janeiro and Recife (Heh-see-fe). This incident occurred in a smaller area that is less influenced by western cultures. The World Cup is being held in a civilised area. That being said, some fucked up shit goes down further inland.
