I had a huge amount of friends down there, thank God this was thwarted. I've always hated going downtown on Canada Day, now even more.

Yeah same set up and everything. The area is packed with people every year, like closed off, no room to walk. Would have been devastating.

I seem to remember when the boston marathon bombing happened, a lot of canadians on here were shunning america for these kind of things happening in america but not in canada....

these types of attacks are usually discovered by questionable means like wire-tapping, etc.

People get mad when they hear that the government is doing those things at all, but happy when they hear that the government has foiled an attack using those methods.


IE people are mad about it unless it's saving their lives. Then they're still mad about it.

i am by no means trying to make a joke of the matter, but not much of anything will happen just by putting rusty nails inside a pressure cooker, though i am sure RCMP removed what ever kind of explosive was actually inside cookers before taking the evidence pictures. and it is hard to tell what evidence #5 even is.  It is amazing to hear that something like this was thwarted although unsettling as to how long the let it go for/ how close it was(watching them since February). This spring, in fairbanks, we had a series of mysterious explosions that were blowing out windows over a mile away and no one knew what was happening. A few weeks later, the police made and arrest and said that everyone was safe the whole time, no one was in danger, because the feds were the ones supplying the guys with said explosives. No on felt safe while it was happening, and lots of people had questions after the fact.

who do you know who has waited for a lifesaving procedure? all of my family members who needed it have gotten amazing treatment.
