So, I think this is a good idea for a fishing thread, as this topic is bound to come up many times. Post what has been working for you lately, or in the long term. Any lure that just plain works well for you. Whatever your go-to lures are, all time favorites, or new lures that have been producing, post them here. I know for one that I am always looking for new lures to try to add another page to the playbook. So, let it commence.
Lately it has been:
Slug-Gos
Senkos
Berekely Havoc Smash Tubes (for Smallies)
Berkeley Powerbait Curly-tailed Grubs (also for Smallies, and large panfish)
All-Time Favs:
Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps (classic)
Booyah spinnerbaits and buzzbaits (cheap, durable, and they catch fish)
Small in-line spinners like Rooster Tail, Mepps, etc. (these reel in trout and pickerel like no other)
Koppers Live Target frog (this is a damn good lure, hefty price tag tho)
7" Berkeley Power Worms
scum frogs (they're cheap)
Bass pro shops "Tournament Series" soft plastics (again, cheaper than big brand-names like Yamamoto and Berkeley)
Red Devil spoons (pickerel bait)
besides the aforementioned ribbon worms, senkos, tubes, and grubs, basically can't go wrong with any lizards, craws, or creature baits. Soft plastics rule, espec. in the summer and winter.
Football jigs with a creature bait or craw as a trailer
So post lures that work for you. Classic favorites or shit that's been bringing 'em in lately. I personally don't fly fish (although I plan on getting into it next season), but I know that many on NS do, so post flies if that is your thing.
Go!
