NS Community,

Just wanted to give a formal introduction and short history for the shop! We are more than stoked to continue reaching out to the newschoolers community specifically, growing, educating, and providing you with knowledgeable information on all your ski needs!

We have been in business for 37 years, beginning in Columbus, OH right on The Ohio State's campus. We now call Cincinnati, OH home and have been there for 17 years. We are a small local shop, running with no more than 6 employees, none of which are older than 32 yrs old, throughout the year. Each one of our employees is hand picked from our ski community and are dedicated to the growth of the store as well as the industry. We pride ourselves on hands on customer service, boot fitting, and have a full service shop for tunes and repairs. Our youthfulness allows us to always be on top of all the trends of the industry, but our history and age as a business allows us to stay true to our roots, showing everyone the joys skiing/snowboarding can bring to your life, in a fun & laxed environment.

We love this industry, it is our passion. Any questions you guys may have about a product, feel free to hit us up!

Hey man, plenty of places to ski in our area! You had to have heard of Perfect North before right? Where Nick Goepper hails from! That's just across the border in Indiana, only about 30-40 mins from our Cincinnati store. Our other store, Adams Ski Shop, is in Bellefotaine, OH right next to Mad River Mountain, where Louie Vito, Olympic snowboarder, is from. There's also Boston Mills/Brandywine, Snowtrails, and a couple other smaller hills. There's a strong ski community in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland! You'd be quite surprised...

I still however can't say it often enough about how awesome it is to have shops, brands, and industry professionals on here to connect with members. That's been a deal maker with me on several occasions. Best of luck with your time on NS!

Well if you don't live in Cincinnati, there's a high probability you've never heard of us. We're not claiming to be EVO or Backcountry. What we ARE is a core ski and snowboard shop, committed to the sport, that has absolutely been around for 37 years, and we're here to stay. We support shopping locally, and are committed to the brick and mortar identity. Now you know us, cheers!

he uuh.. seemed pretty chill there. he brought up some valid points and shared his expertise on the subject. none of his posts were at negative karma, and many users agreed with him, besides, at this point he wasnt even representing the company. the company account would do good in his hands

So how many mounts does a shop in the skiing mecca of ohio average a day?

Haha well, it depends on the time of season! In summer, we maybe do about 2 a week, since we're heavy into SUP, Kayak, and long boarding. Pre-season (for us is late August to mid November) we'll do on average 40-50 a week plus a decent amount of release checks and remounts as well. We'll do about 600 tunes up to that point as well. In season that number may drop to about 20-30 mounts/remounts/release checks, but then comes an Everest amount of waxes.

It's all a cycle, but between our own sales and people who buy online and come to us to get set up, we stay pretty busy. We are mounting skis for customers as far as Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH and everywhere in between!

First of all go back and read some of pages 2, 3, and 4 of that thread. He sounds like a complete fucking idiot in the way he carries himself, and then after a bunch of members, including some more notable and respected members of gear talk are all agreeing against him, he pulls the old, "I TROLLEDZ U SO HARD LOLZ ERMAGERD." Secondly none of his posts were down rated because that thread was made before you could up vote and down vote posts... And lately he's still been on the bullshit spread all over the site.

Did they live somewhere with real mountains and real snow and work for a real shop

If its the validity of our techs you're concerned about we can assure you everyone has the proper certifications necessary for working on product and the use of machinery.

Danny, who does majority of our mounts and repairs, did actually live in Crested Butte, CO for 2 years, and the rest of our staff has spent countless hours on the east and west. Both Danny and Joe were taught by Alan Blume, the original owner who retired in April, everything they know. Alan started the company back in the 70's, so it's safe to say he knew a thing or two about skiing.

We can assure you that although we primarily ski on fake snow, we are real people, who work in a real shop, that makes real money, with employees who really love skiing.

Just a recomendation, but you guys really need a big renovation of your website. I've shopped at Vertical Drop and have bought boots, pants, gloves, and more. Last time i checked, the website takes you to other websites like Nordicas, Full Tilt, etc. which is a huge pain. I'm sure you've thought of this, but to open up your sales to more of the skiing community nationally, definently set up sales on a website. You are taking steps to becoming a bigger company by joining newschoolers. Also, the only thing i've had complaints for is i'm pretty sure you don't carry dabello or armada. I may be wrong though. However, in the cincinnati area, you guys are the best store. Benchmark, the place in kenwood and the store right by perfect are nowhere nearas good as vertical drop. Anyways, welcome to newschoolers!!!

Hey man, thanks for the love! We're stoked to run into some customers on here. As for the website, we couldn't agree more and know it needs a major facelift, which we're currently working on!

As far as Dalbello and Armada you are correct we do not currently carry their product. We are always open to suggestions and if the demand is there, we will certainly take a look at it. One thing companies run into is dealing with proximity to other stores. Sometimes makes it difficult to get a specific manufacturer in the door due to the proximity of other accounts.

We definitely take your suggestions to heart and are more than happy to hear them. Check us out on Facebook, the link is in out signature, we are constantly posting updates and product arrivals on there and will be a main source of all things going on around the shop for us! Thanks again man!

i'm not doubting your techs whatched the viddies and passed the open book cert test
I'm just doubting a shop that averages less than a 1000 mounts a year can really be all that experienced.
you should post a pic of the tune shop and your equipment
Are you guys affiliated with the vertical drop in st chuck IL.
I grew up there
till I realized that if your gonna b passionate about skiing it's best to move somewhere it doesn't suck.

We are in no way shape or form affiliated with the St. Charles store, haha.

And as for the mounts per year, like we said, everything our guys learned, apprenticed under Alan. Danny specifically spent 6 years with Alan learning everything from boot stretches to mounts. It wasn't as simple as watch the videos, take the test, and off to mounting you go. We take shop operations very seriously, it's something we pride ourselves on.

We don't feel you have to live east/west to be a passionate skier, and our employees exemplify that everyday.

Proximity meaning there is other stores that relatively close to us that carry the mentioned brands. Smaller companies are keen on preserving existing accounts without creating controversy by opening new accounts that are close to each other.

If the demand comes, we will definitely take a look into whichever company we see and get asked about. Saga is a prime example, we have been asked about it, see it all over the hill, and now will be bringing Saga in this fall!

Always be on the lookout, things are constantly changing around here
