What are some good books for teens?

Okay, my aunt who also is a professor asked me to compile a list of books good for teens. Please help me out and give me some good books for teens. Im not gonna read them but I still need to know what is good.

You obviously don't understand teenagers. In tenth grade (last year, for reference) I read Of Mice and Men, The Pearl, Tortilla Flat, Kon Tiki, and a book about the Jonestown massacre that was written by a reporter that was there when it happened. I was in elementary when I read Harry Potter and Eragon. I never read the Hunger Games series but my I remember my younger cousins reading it when I saw them around Christmas time and they're a bit younger than 12.
