But why would people lace weed with coke and sell it to an unknowing customer? I would think that dealers would lose money just from adding $5 or however much coke to a 20 bag of nugs just doesn't seem worth it to me. Selling weed to get a respectable profit is already a lot of work, most people don't want coke on their weed so the dealer would be giving away free coke and losing profit.

The whole fucking argument in this 3 page thread which you have OBVIOUSLY FAILED TO GRASP is that MDMA (molly) is being proven to be not harmful to the body or brain (this is a bit of an overstatement I realize but they are absolutely debunking the myths of previously flawed studies which are taken as fact i.e. holes in brain, spinal fluid shit, death immediately). The problem is as others have stated (which you couldn't comprehend in multiple posts) is that drug dealers cut it with garbage to increase the qty of their product. This happens because drugs are illegal and not regulated in any form. I'm sure whoever you got your "facts" from about MDMA/ecstasy was sure to include these.

I also heard the earth was flat, people proved it in the 1500's!!!!!!!!!!!

Wake up kids. The US government and general media hates the idea of it's people having fun on drugs. Just look at the god damn difference between Weed and Booze and actually examine the health, adverse social, and mental stability of users.

MDMA can cause hyperthermia and hyponatremia (extreme drop in the body's sodium level), both can be fatal, and are considered to be the leading causes of death from MDMA. Granted you would need to take a lot of MDMA and be pretty dehydrated to start with.

If you want to be informed, search MDMA health effects in Google Scholar or similar and read the no doubt 10,000+ peer reviewed articles that show irrefutable proof of the harm that this drug does to the body.

Maybe I should post the article from the 60's about doctors that did a study on Marijuana and found it killed brain cells. Of course if you look at any CURRENT studies you see now they'll bring it up to state its flaws.

That Canadian article is going to be a tough pill to swallow. I didn't start using drugs recreationally until my mid 20's. I use them maybe 5-6 times a year in settings that are appropriate. I was born in the midwest and grew up in a very conservative family where everyone told me drugs will ruin your life. Ecstasy will eat your spinal cord etc... I started smoking a bit of weed every now and again when I turned 24 right before I moved out to california. I'm well aware of your pre concieved notions of drugs and I'm just saying you should do the research before you do anything. We advertise beer on the most watched sporting event in the US yet put people in jail for years for smoking a joint? What the fuck is up with that? How is that fair? All I'm saying is that drugs are not all they're cracked up to be and you should educate yourself for the betterment of society.

Watch this, it helped me see what was going on.

The studies are inconclusive they contradict each other.

Don't be so quick to condem something without looking at both sides yourself and thinking logically, try to eliminate your own bias. Also remember if you think you have no bias you live in a society that just says drugs are bad without rational. Look weed is just now becoming legal.

If your brain is thinking well weed isn't bad but MDMA is because ... You really don't know why now do you?

there are thousands of studies supporting one side of the argument and 1, maybe 2 supporting the other side. And the studies that say it's safe aren't even saying there are no ill health effects, they're saying it's safe the say it's safe to drink a glass of wine.

I honestly don't see how people can possibly be so dumb as to argue against the thousands of peer reviewed scientific studies done on the effects of this drug. nothing about this is hypothetical. it's all cold hard fact.

Its not really threadworthy so I'll ask here. In north america, in school how are you presented with information/educated about drugs? Is it by your teacher, a police officer, a healthcare worker? Is it a presentation of the facts on effects, side effects and dangers and is there a massive pressure on how illegal the drugs are and the repercussions of being caught with them, dealing them etc?

combination of teacher and healthcare worker. typically the school nurse (this was my experience). I get where you're going with this question and I'll say this:

the 'amount' or dosage for illegal drugs is never really discussed because this could be viewed as condoning the use of drugs by a public official.

but this was in high school, parents tend to be protective.

I was arguing that there are NO actual experiments done within the past 5 years with the exception of the previous 2 that I stated and articles I referenced.

One thing you have to realize about google scholar is while yes, it's a great tool it does not always mean that it was a study in the traditional sense (i.e. 50 patients take mdma for x amount of months, stop taking it, then scientists measure brain problems/activity).

A lot of the "studies" are from previously flawed experiments as stated in my article. The reason this is? It's hard as fuck to get a permit or the government to sign off on people studying outlawed drugs. There are actually very few experiments that are done.

I got into this discussion/argument about organics vs gmo foods. Because it's so monetarily and time consuming to create an actual study most people just do reports and reference old and often outdated experiments. Even though said old experiments might be wrong/flawed. That's why I made the comment regarding that "a lot of scientists knew the old experiments were flawed"

Am I making any sense?

Here is a good example of what I'm talking about. A google doc comes out regarding marijuana causing cancer where the professor states facts based on studies that were done many years ago. We know now, because OF RECENT EXPERIMENTS that this is NOT the case.

I do want to have a conversation about this with you. I apologize for the personal attacks.

As stated earlier you're going to find lots of "studies" that were done recently but none of them actually involve testing.

I found the article useful because it says something about scientists agreeing that the experiments were flawed. Thus leading me to think that what we originally thought about MDMA was wrong.

well as a studying and practising scientist, I really won't take anything other than a peer reviewed article as fact. and even then I am usually quite skeptical unless it's proven time and again.

there are, however, many dozens of peer reviewed articles written about studies done on human subjects that do point out many detrimental health effects of MDMA use and many thousands that have used animals and other experimental methods to show that MDMA does indeed have negative effects on the human body.

but, I have seen reference to (although not actually referenced) an article that was published that the paraphrasing I've seen states that MDMA doesn't actually have any negative health effects. this is the article I want to find. I've done some searches and have come up with nothing yet.
