Chupa_ChupsSooo you guys all know about the whole "Eating a mango an hour before smoking will get you higher" thing. This is because mangos have high levels of myrcene.
I don't have any mangos, but I recently found out that thyme contains a very high amount of myrcene.
So my question is this: If I were to eat a tablespoon of thyme an hour before smoking, would it work?
myrcene + THC + other cannabinoids and terpenes have a synergistic effect that can influence/alter your high. They are discovering every day that it isn't just Delta-9 and THC-A but rather a combined effect of all the molecules in the plant. This is something I just pulled up about myrcene.
"[Myrcene] has been shown to change the permeability of cell membranes to allow more absorption of cannabinoids by the brain."
"According to recent information published by Steep Hill Labs, a major cannabis testing laboratory in the Bay Area, for most people eating a fresh mango 45 minutes before inhaling cannabis will increase the effects of that cannabis. Rev. Dr. Kymron de Cesare of Steep Hill is an advocate of what he calls “overlapping synergies” between myrcene and other terpenes with the various cannabinoids, such as how myrcene makes THC more effective."
Science bitch. So Mycrene gets you higher because it allows more cannabinoids to be absorbed thru cell membranes. Weed science is dope.
