I know this is a summer thread on ns and you should just ski for the fun of it with your pals blah blah, but I was just wondering out of curiosity, who do you guys thinks more money, a pro park skiier or a pro backcountry skiier?
Ager's parents are filthy rich. They live in Van. and have one of the biggest homes in BC. So even though Charlie may not be racking it in himself his parents are loaded.
Candide, Pettit, Tom, Sammy all rake $. Tanner and Jon make their worth work for itself. Simon made his loot, and so did Seth. The rest get by, some more so than others.
Oh and Martinis have way more wealth than Agers.
are we really having this conversation again? it's the same as real life, 1% of the "professional" skier population makes 99% of the money. the rest of the "pros" are not really professionals at all because they cannot support themselves purely off the income from skiing.
i would say that it's an even split. there's probably a similar number of park skiers and BC skiers that support themselves purely on the income from skiing and skiing related income.
I just thought you used it wrong. I thought disinformation meant that you went out of your way to spread incorrect information while misinformation was just that you didn't know. Maybe I'm completely wrong though and I look like a total ass now lol.
Really? Most ns kids whack it to the Inspired movies, pop chub at stept and level 1, and have "firm" respect for MSP, PBP, and TGR. But even that is probably just an average. I personally think Sherpas is making the best movies right now.
I really hope Chris and Jossi don't read this, haha.... For the future pros out there: if you really want to make money in the ski industry, pick up a sponsor outside of the ski industry, such as Monster, Red Bull, Target, Sony, Verizon, etc. In the grand scheme of things, even the largest ski brands are small potatoes and thus don't pay anywhere remotely near to what these "real" companies can afford.
True.
It's important to separate ski related sponsors (skis, outerwear, goggles, boots, helmets etc.) and non ski related ones (cameras, energy drinks, cars etc).
Getting paid 10K/year (without incentives) by your ski sponsor is a lot, and already put you among the well-paid skiers.
