WAKE UP CALL:
Lincoln led his counter-revolution betraying and murdering the voluntary, limited-government republic and replacing it with an empire held together via the force of arms. Lincoln himself supported a failed 13th amendment that would have preserved slavery for all of time, in exchange for keeping the seceding states in the union.
Lincoln suspend habeas corpus, closed hundres of opposition newspapers, arrested their editors without charge, exiled and jailed political opponents, used federal troops to overthrow state governments, fixed federal elections, imposed an income tax, raised an army without congressional approval, launched an invasion without congressional approval, seized arms from the populous, and did all the things that would mark a tyrant.
And it was all in an effort to support the whig platform of crony capitalism, centralized banking, high tariffs and nationalism. There are sound reasons why the Republican Party was the party of the fascists, socialists and communists of Lincoln's day.
