We may not have Chicago or Detroit, but we have Bridgeport. Bridgeport is literally the school of Hard Knocks. Thugs in NYC know better than to trounce around Bridgeport... Or Los Solidados? Ever hear of them? In one fell swoop they single handedly destroyed Hartford in the late 80's early 90's. Hartford had to start a gang unit to deal with them, watch the Gangland episode about it. Exciting fact: About 1/3 of that gang is due for release from prisons this year.

I was born and raised in CT. But I have also spent a fair amount of time living in upstate NY, NH, and the past couple months in Utah, and enjoy each place in their own regard. Even though I know I will not settle down there, I'm not disappointed in spending the last bit of the summer back in CT. Every state I've lived in has cool shit to do. It's all about being active in finding stuff to do. I've driven across the plains states of the US and can guarantee living in the rural parts of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, fuckin Iowa, and Nebraska is a hell of a lot more boring than CT. There is decent hiking within the state, and even better hiking is available if you are willing to drive a couple of hours. Day trips to NYC or Boston can easily be done. Or you can go to the fuckin beach no problem. CT has sick swimming holes and has really good rock climbing. Essentially every town has at least one place to kayak or fish.

Just be active. There is not a single place that is fun to live if you sit on your hands and do nothing all day.

A friend of mine was out cruising through Greenwich doing some house gawking when he got pulled over by a Maserati. Cop tells him "you know you're in someone's driveway, right?" lols were had. Apparently though in this community they have their own sanctioned police force made up of rich ass citizens who just went and took a course lol... Badge and gun and everything, and the Maserati was his personal too.

Can you imagine that? "I'm so rich that guess what? I'm a cop now. AND what!?" doing 100+ on the hwy, lights and badge shit... That must be the life haha

I think the problem with CT isn't the lack of things to do for someone to stay occupied but the people that actually live in (at least the wealthier parts) of CT.

maybe western PA, but certainly not Eastern PA. Pretty much anywhere east of the capital is rad. There's so much to do within about a 3-4 hr. radius.
