Fishing knots and knot tying...

What's your go-to? Top 5?

I'm a huge clinch knot guy, it's just so easy and I'm a lazy fucker.




Palomar is also super strong but harder to tie.



What are your go-to knots?

definately improved clinch, and triple surgeons for a line to line knot.

I've pretty much converted to the double palomar all the time now. It's the only knot I know that keeps NanoFil from slipping.

I believe the other name for that knot is actually the NanoFil knot? Pretty sure that everyone says knot to use any knot but that one.

I just started using the triple loop knot for fluorocarbon and its unreal strong. For fluorocarbon its break strength was tested at nearly double the lb test of the line.

For anyone who wants to experiment with knots get the "Knot Wars" app. It tells you what knot work for what line and their breaking strength.

Of course Berkley had to go and triple stamp a double stamp (and then call quitsies!) lol... But yes. It works awesome. I have not lost a single knot, but you have to get that fucker droolin' to not chafe your line.

Fuck this knot, now it keeps slipping and not tying right for me, too much of a hassle.

I now use the san diego jam for fluorocarbon. So far so good and super easy to tie

The single has been working great for me. Last year I had a lot of knot breaking/slipping problems with fluoro and the palomar knot on dropshots. This year not a single one with the san diego.
