Long boarders just get so sensitive because they know they're not as gnarly and they hate it being pointed out to them. But OP everything else was pretty fucking rad and exactly what I do in the summer.

I have a mini vert ramp for skating as well as long board, skateboarding is cooler, but nothing beats bombing hills on a longboard

All I've been doing lately is smoking a little bit, walking my dog, playing video games, giving it to the girlfriend and working out a little bit. Not a terrible gameplan I feel like.

I've been experimenting with smoking various plants. I haven't found it yet, but I know I'm going to find something that gets me super high. It's also good because it gives me a lot of practice so that when my friends start smoking weed, I'll already be experienced. I'm also trying to get a head start on my summer reading. My teacher assigned us three books to read this summer. That's gonna take me forever.

Not as gnarly? It depends on what you see as gnarly going down hills at 45-50+ mph is whats gnarly and makes longboarding so fun for me. Skating and longboarding are two very different forms of skating and I mostly use my board to comute, and bomb hills. I have had friends that are very good at street skating and they even longboard, just because its fun. Its about having fun and clearly your missing out on something that is pretty fucking awesome. Cruising hills to met up with friends or bombing down long mountain roads is whats prime in the summer.

No, you're wrong. One of them isn't even skating. It's not the same thing and shouldn't be lumped in the same category. Skateboarding is not long boarding and long boarding is not skating.

Why do i not long board? because if I want to have a "cruiser" or commuter board to make it "easier" to get around, i will slap some 55mm soft wheels on a skateboard set up. It is more useful and practical than a long board. I can pop up and down curbs, go over stairs still slap some ledges along the way to where I am going, i never have to get off, I have more control and many more options. I'm not just stuck pushing some heavy load of crap that makes me look like every other jamoke fuckstick on a long board. and as a skateboarder (this is gonna sound majorly douchey but i don't give a fuck) I can tell who can ride and who can't i look down on longboarders when i see them ride by. A real skateboarder just wouldnt hop on one because of how much more control you have on a normal skateboard. There is no point in riding one when I know how much more fun and how much more control I will have on a normal board. Oh and when you can do real tricks on a super consistent level you get fucking bored on a long board. Nothing like flossing home from class and blasting a fat tre or kickflip at full speed in front of a bunch of honeys. Way cooler than mongo pushing on your landyacht past them.

You are a dumbass dude.... Both are boards that have trucks. You ride them both in the same way just boards are made differently. Its like park skis, and just cruising skis. Its still skiing. Longboards and skateboards are both boards of wood with wheels they are linked in their existence and if you like skating you shouldn't hate on longboarding. I never argued that long boarding looks cooler than street skating. Doing tres and laser flips take more skill. But they both are fun that is what you fail to understand. Dumb asses ride longboard and skateboards you are just stereotyping longboarders just as people have stereotyped skaters for being rebellious fucks. What I don't get is why you hate on a group people for having fun? You just seem like an asshole.

Matter a fact I have had honeys come at me after doing a fat ass stand up slide at like 30 to blow off speed and 3 chicks who were were all 8/10 came right over to me and started talking to me and a couple minutes later one of their boyfriends cam over and got heated.

You guys get consistent daily waves in Maine? That's surprising, here in Nova Scotia our surf is hardly consistent at all until hurricane season.

My summer will be spent hanging with friends/the girlfriend, fly fishing, surfing, on the summer setup, photography, working, and various other lil projects. Should be a fun summer.
