Holding it down in Lake Champlain. Here's a pic from today, I'm gonna try to inch another mph out of her. Not sure how accurate ski tracks is on the water though hahah.

Blue one was traded for another whitewater boat. Yellow one is still my fishing/camping kayak. 11.5 feet of fun on the water. It's actually long enough I can climb out of the seat and lay on the back if I need a nap haha.

Looking for a pair of kayaks to primarily fish from, but also take out on smaller lakes and moderately calm rivers/streams (read: no intentional rapids) around WA.

Any insight on what to look for, or to avoid? I've made myself dizzy from looking around on Cabelas/Bass Pro/Dick's/Sports Authority/etc.

Dude no hesitation from me- definitely get a sit-on-top. They are superior in just about every way from seating position to being able to stand up to storage and capacity... You really can't beat them with a sit-in unless you're paddling rougher rivers or an ocean and even then it's debatable. I bought a sit-in because it's what I thought of when I thought "kayak" but I WISH I had gone SOT. With a SOT all your gear is at your fingertips at all times and with a sit-in, you are VERY limited as to what you can pack.
