Benson.Your PB is so close to a state record! That's dope, you could get it one day!
Ive asked myself too many time "what if you caught that fish during the spawn instead of middle of july" haha
Benson.HOWEVER, the trade off is that I can't fish for walleye, pike, or musky like MN guys can. It's pretty much LMB, Pickerel, occasional trout, SMB if you head north, and panfish.
The variety is nice. I love me some musky and walter fishin
Huck_NorrisI need to get a scale so bad.
I have the same rapala one as frenchy. Its only like $20 and its dead on
Wait... Benson, no pike in MA??? CT has a few stocked lakes way up in the hills in the NW part of the state, the pike lakes are doing GREAT.
Dude hugo thats a sick PB. my dream is to get a 10lb LM or a 6lb SM, so i can get put in bassmaster mags monthly issue in the lunker club.
better view for bass?
still fucking wish someone coulda taken a pic of me, the GoPro does the bass NO justice... lol whatever. about to go to cabelas and fish more new ponds with a friend. i wanna join the 7lb club in the next month and a half ;)
.Hugo.7.2... but im the only one I know of that has even caught one over 7 here.
Also the MN state record is 8lb 15 oz
I definitely know the MN "record" is not anywhere near where it should be.
I have personally seen a 10lb bass pulled out of a manmade body of water in Rochester.
In the area I fished a lot in MN, there was a small bait shop with local records with photos and the largest bass was over 12lbs. I'm kind of surprised it wasn't submitted to the DNR for MN records. It was a total fatty, gut hanging out everywhere.

There are a few lakes that have pike stocked, but they're out in the berkshires and I live in Foxborough, so that's a 2-3 hour drive for me.
Benson. My cousin just gave me a Shimano Citica for free, so there's that...
Fishing today sucked though, went for two hours and only had one bite on a frog which I promptly ripped out of the fishes mouth because I was impatient and didn't wait before setting the hook.
I was hammering some mostly smaller fish out deep off a sunken boat tonight, and these motherfuckers came out and started fishing within 50 feet of me. I could have casted into their boat, not an exaggeration at all. They started catching fish and I stopped getting em so I was fuckin pissed. Fired up my boat and gave them a flyby rocking their fuckin world, and went to my second spot. 30 minutes later they do the same thing on the other side of the lake. I proceeded to catch 5 of these fuckers, nearly identical in size right in front of em.
Then when I was done fired the boat up and prop washed those snakey bastards. Hope they enjoyed fishing wet the rest of the night
Lol that's fucking awesome, I fkn hate when people come near me in a boat when they can see me catching them... i just wanna say go find your own spot, but, i dont own the lake :I

thing's a pig btw!
Its usually a bigger problem and happens way more walleye fishing. I've casted at other boats before. My favorite line is "Hey why dont you call me next time, we can just share a boat and save some gas"

Hahahaha, CT only has a COUPLE 'eye lakes... Never fished for em, im a bass guy lol
speaking of bass, brought a friend to my lake in my backyard, he slayed em in the deep water. so did i but i dont really want pics with 2lbers anymore after catching a few 4/5's at my new spot
and yes, I told him to hold it correctly. i'm a nazi when it comes to holding/treatment of bass lol

I fucking HATE crowders. Happened to me two days ago at a lake that's busier than I would normally go to- worst idea ever. Never again, man. I'm fishing a back cove of weeds in my kayak when some asshole in a motorboat rolls up within 20 feet of me and starts casting right next to me- mind you the lake is empty except for a few people so I'm fkn pissed about it. They're fishing the side I just fished out though, so I think it's more funny than anything. After a minute or two though, I paddle to the other end of the cove near a point and start working it- no sooner do I do this than two fat chicks throwing- get this- bobbers on steady retrieve (?!) come around the corner and roll up even closer than the other guy and proceed to start hammering the exact spot I was fishing. I almost lost it, and probably would have except I caught a nice 2-3lber right under their noses and then just paddled away.
God where the fuck is peoples' etiquette though?? I fucking hate people, I really do. Every motherfucker out there juct can't wait to roll up on you. I fucking hate it.
Fortunately that's never happened to me, though I see why it's annoying. All the lakes around me are pretty small and surrounded by miles of dense forest in most areas, so I don't really have to deal with anyone else ever. Just surrounded by nature.
That one at night was a chunky monkey, biggest I've caught in a few days.
Also picked up a 6'6, medium-power, fast action Abu Garcia Veritas on sale at BPS today. Gonna use it with my 6.5:1 Citica as a topwater(excluding frogs)/jerkbait setup.
snapped one of my rods closing the car door. one of my new daiwa rods, only like the top 1.5inch came off.... my friend told me to get the fkn warranty... I think i'll still iuse it, it'll be sketch tho. good thing it wasn't my #1 rod lol
Successful little 1.5 hrs of night fishing courtesy of the KVD Sexy Dawg. Should've had six, but two got off halfway through the battle. The fourth pic was the biggest, maybe 2.5-3? Idk, I'm really bad at guesstimating weights.
I'm almost certain that this one below is the same fish I caught yesterday evening.
Missed being in the money by 4 ounces in my tournament today. Also thought I was gonna get struck by lighting and it poured on us. Shitty fucking day.
It was on a shit lake too, no big fish in it. The winning bag was 10lb 13 oz. Also big fish was 3 lb 13 oz, but it was caught by the only guy to not buy in for big fish, its $10 you cheapass hahahaha. He missed out on $250

4oz? Damn dude that blows... What kinda tournaments are you fishing? u a member of BASS?
These last two have been mystery lake tournaments through a shop by my house. No one knows the lake till the morning of. There are some if the best fishermen in the area with a couple pros/semi-pros.
I used to be a bass memver but couldnt afford it while in college. Now might just get a lifetime
.Hugo.Missed being in the money by 4 ounces in my tournament today.
Damn dude that's a kick in the balls- but also a big pat on the back/motivator! It sounds like you may be destined for greatness, man. You always seem to crush it and that mystery lake scenario is fucking awesome. You should start entering as big of tournaments as you can manage as often as you can tbh. I bet you'd do well even if you would be at a disadvantage to many pros with bottomless budgets.
Also it's great to see this cult so active. I fucking love it in here. I have also bought a ton of gear in the past few months and it's probably time to share some pics in some of the other threads too.
The thing is I may catch a lot of nice bass.... but thats on my two home lakes that I fish all the time and have done so for almost 10 years, so I have them pretty figured out haha. Going to these new lakes having never fished them before these tournaments is tough and really tests me haha.
I dont think im quite ready for bigger tournaments, I mean my partner cant even afford em haha, hes still in school. Also there is still a big advantage gap between the other anglers and me. They have thousands if dollars in electronics with 12 inch screens and side/down imaging and I have 1 5in with regular sonar and gps. They also almost all have 200+ hp motors.... I have 115 so I get beat out to spots quite a bit.
I am planning on expanding and doing some more though. This mystery series has a 4 week break now so maybe ill get a couple in before then

Hey, it's a start- and you wouldn't be doing well in the mystery series if you didn't have your seek 'em and stick 'em techniques down pat. I know you'd technically be at a huge disadvantage to lots of guys with tens of thousands of dollars in gear and boating stuff but the fact remains- the only thing that gets fish in the boat is you and that works just fine. It's worth a shot, but if you aren't ready to go then you've just got more time to dial in!
dude i dont remember where you live, MN i think? You should do the MN BASS tournies! If they have them there, I know CT has that and a bunch of really good dudes fish that... aka paul mueller, name would ring a bell if you saw the Classic this year on guntersville. guy ONLY fished the CT BASS trail.... qualified for the classic. and got SECOND PLACE in his first ever appearance. what a fucking role model.

I mean, the biggest barrier is the money. If you arent winning it adds up fast. Hell even if you are winnung its not much of a profit when you think about boat/truck gas for prefishing and the tournament and all the bauts youre buying for specific lakes.
I never started fishing tournaments to become pro or even try to get sponsored. I started because its a new challenge and I thought theyd be fun. It is extremely challenging and grueling and absolutely drains you both ohysically and mentally, but that feeling you get when you know you did and beat out some great fishermen us totally worth it
Caught 5 LUNKER BASS tonight! this was the biggest or second biggest, only pic I have of it, my buddies have the other pics. I caught 5, my friends combined caught none, poor guys lol
Huck you pushed me over the edge, and I made a $1,500 impulse buy today.... only went to cabelas to stock up on plastics too. Was playing around with the graphs and the guy told me there was a $300 rebate on them till next monday and next thing I knew I was walking out with this and zero plastics haha

Hahahahaha holy shit man that is SICK! See, that's how a trip to Cabela's is done. I fucking love down imaging, it blows my mind every time I can see a tree sitting at the bottom of the lake. Can't wait to see the fkn slobs you find with that thing!
division.bellI finally picked up a rod for my Supreme XT; went with the St. Croix Premier 6' 6" MH 2 piece.
Dude. Such a nice setup! Great all around hiking package for sure, you are going to love that combo.
Huck_NorrisAnd nice work frenchie- you need a boat tho dude! Is that kayak you use yours or??
Yeah I have 2 kayaks that I keep on my dock on my backyard lake.... dude, I fkn know I need a boat lol it's so annoying. Going back to that pond today, saw a legit 8lb there yesterday, if I catch that....

I think im more excited for the side imaging, being able to see pictures of the bottom 200 feet out from either side of the boat is a HUGE advantage! I'll post some screen shots up if I find anything interesting out there.
Benson. That Lucky Craft prop bait is seriously one of the most beautiful lures I've ever bought, imo.
My cousin got a 6 lber on a frog the other day:
Ooh she is a fattie!
LC makes quality shit fo sho. Megabass also. JDM in general really is on another level (and costs like it) Love my knuckle 60, it's like two in one with no re-tie!

Oh indeed. Find the structure and then hover and see exactly what it is? Fuck fishing that is going to be fun in itself! Mapping a lake is one of the most interesting things you can do. It never ceases to amaze me what it looks like down there.

I absolutely love the Lucky Craft Sammy and Gunfish for topwater. The Sammy 100 in MS Black is my go-to topwater hardbait. I have one that's seen easily 20-30 bass over the last two seasons, and not a scratch to be found on the paint.
JDM jerkbaits are the best, love the LC Staysee and Pointer, as well as the Megabass Ito Vision 110. Yo-Zuri makes some really nice cranks as well. Their finishes are just on another level imo, even in terms of hyper-realistic/flashy JDM stuff.
.frenchythe one time i try to spread the love of bass fishin on nsg my thread gets trolled by that HP kid. lol sick.
thats why this cult>nsg
Yeah that's why I never bother with NSG in the summer. It's like the shit version of the 'Midas touch'... Literally any thread will end up the same. There is no stopping it.

Hahahaha great way to put it. Goin to the hog pond tonight, saw an 8lber. so i shall catch him!!!!
Teckel USA Honker Frog, basically a frog with spinner blades for legs. Looks pretty cool, can't wait to try it out.
Evolve Nervous Walker
KVD pencil baits:
And a Molix Supernato. Basically a completely weedless crankbait. It's a hybrid crank/frog in which the front portion of the body where the lip is connected is hard to make it wobble through the water like a crank, but the back half is soft like a frog with standard frog hooks. Apparently it only dives about a foot max, so it's more like a wakebait, but still really cool concept and I can't wait to throw it.

TW is like a drug. I'm totally taking tackle box pics this week, shit is on point for the moment.
