depends on what kind of "country"

if its the new country, it can fucking die, that shit is absolutely terrible.

but alternative country, people like Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Earl Keen and Ryan Bingham, thats some really pure stuff that gets overlooked.

And of course the old stuff like Hank Williams, Cash, Willie Nelson will always be there.

But new country is the bane of my existence.

This is so true though. Radio that's played on the radio is pop-rock with some pansy trying to put on some stupid accent that's best use is to make words rhyme that don't actually rhyme. Anyone who tries to argue it just doesn't know much about music, which isn't normally bad.

Honestly it's not much different than other radio music. Other than classic stations, it all sucks.

Yeah, him and most other modern country artists and songs suck. Southern comfort zone by Brad Paisley is a major fuck up of a song, it has soooooo much going on in it. Choirs singing, samples of NASCAR broadcasts being played, and face melter guitar solos plastered over top of it. There are still a few gems here and there. Wagon wheel being one of them, even though it gets overplayed is awesome. Darius Rucker is the black cowboy country needs. And anything margarita-ville esque is the shit. I could listen to anything with that tropical vibe all day long.

But, I did grow up in the sticks and now currently live kinda in cowboy country, so of course I listen to country.

Also, Garth Brooks - That Summer. Was working at a bench with a co-worker one day. We were both quietly working and it came on. We were both listening to the lyrics I guess, and shiiiit, when he first screams out "she had a need to feel the thunder!" We dieeeed. Then the lines "I said that I had never." "She softly whispered that's alright..." Laughing for daaays. That song is straight fucking corny.
