Well here we go again. The season begins August 18th, but there's still plenty going on in the meantime!


Transfer season is in full swing, with various sources reporting everything under the sun with absolutely no basis.

And seemingly every team is going on tour of somewhere, because evidently teams like Norwich need to bolster their support in places like southern California and Malaysia.


Will Manchester United keep the title?
Will Manchester City not be a mess?
Will Chelsea's Jose Mourinho get himself sacked by Christmas?
Will Arsenal be stuck waiting another season to win a trophy?
Will Tottenham finally get a champions league spot?

Here's to a hopefully entertaining season with plenty of great action leading up the BRAZIL 2014!

baha Arsenal off to the worst possible start for their run of hard games. what a great week though, outplayed City at their stadium which many thought was mission impossible, then both title contenders drop points.

ill be cheering for both city and arsenal in the champions league. a deep run will hurt their title chances

Been awhile due to cups and other nonsense, but it's back!

Chelsea did well to take the points today. Arsenal dominated which was just lovely. Haven't seen anything yet, but I heard city got a little lucky today

fun game to watch as an arsenal fan, i thought sunderland would play a little better than that.

on a side note, i really like how arsenal played against bayern for the first 38 minutes haha. after that miss by ozil and red it was all over. at least showed what kinda class they can have when everyone is clicking. and that was without ramsey and a true striker.

no Walcott as well. Sanogo has suprised me, playing pretty well minus his shitty first touches. They came out on fire, it was unfortunate they didn't get an early goal, could have definitely changed the game completely.

Sanogo was very impressive considering the fact that he was pretty much just dropped into these big games out of nowhere. Hopefully has a bright future.

I just can't wait for Ramsey to get back. Arteta has been hit or miss and wilshere hasn't been on his level lately

so much luck. and he had no wall to shoot over or around. and they were already up 2-0 in extra time. essentially the least pressure you can have to take a shot.

I don't know...I agree with the pressure point, and he probably didn't intend it to swerve the way it did, but that's the whole point of a knuckleball. Put it on frame and see what happens. Pure skill to have the ball do like one full rotation in 40 yards

yeah, no doubt it takes a ton of skill to strike a ball like that. just watch a couple of CR9 or bale's freekicks and you get an idea why clubs pay so much for them. but ultimately what i'm trying to say is that the goals that are scored from knuckleballs are, very often, inherently lucky. it does still take a lot of skill, and they almost always make for an exciting free kick, but when one finds the back of the net there's always a little luck involved.

even roberto carlos said that the movement on the ball in his famous free kick against france was totally luck. again, not to say it doesn't take skill and it's not impressive.

a little irrelevant buuut since this is in my threads; does anyone own a pair of hypervenoms? My vapors are getting trashed and I wanna try a pair, just not sure whether to get AG or FG. I play 90% on turf but I like the all black/crimson colorway more that is only offered on the FG's. Any experience with either stud pattern?

I always get the FG when both are offered. I usually play turf as well and they work just fine. I have the hypervenom figs right now and they work just fine on turf

Very good showing by arsenal this morning in the FA cup. A few iffy moments, but solid once Giroud came on.

Can't believe how quiet this thread has been given how good the title race is.

Liverpool spanked Manchester united today, and arsenal weathered the storm to beat Tottenham. And Chelsea lost. Decent weekend

Arsenal got lucky. They played like absolute shit in the midfield. Theyre really missing Ramsey.

I have a feeling unless MC slips up, they will win the title.

I like Giroud so much but a scary striker up front would be the final key. Arsenal shoulda signed Remy when they had the chance earlier this season.

I didn't like the way Arsenal just folded up to weather the storm, the best teams in the world would never do such a thing and instead push for two. Either way though, at least we got 3 points and Man U lost lololol. What a shit show that game was...

only just found this thread. chelsea fan here, I'm still pissed about how poor we played this saturday! you can see how badly we're missing mata when we're up against a team who defends well. we're just missing the final ball (plus a striker). anyway i can still see city winning the league. i am scared however about liverpool and how they could nick the title. i can see it all coming down to the final day of the season.

Hate to say it as I would like Arsenal to win it, but I think City is going to end up taking the title and Chelsea second because if their lack of a solid striker.
