"Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is under investigation by the LAPD after allegedly squirting a heckler in the face with a water bottle during Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Kings … TMZ Sports has learned We know … 27-year-old Kings fan Clark Wong filed a BATTERY report Monday night claiming he was “sprayed” by the hockey player at Staples Center.
TMZ Sports spoke with Wong who says he was sitting behind the Blackhawks bench — and was heckling Crawford — when the goalie was pulled from the game toward the end of the 3rd period. That’s when Crawford — who’s in the middle of a 6-year, $36 MILLION contract — allegedly whipped out a water bottle and blasted him right in the face.
Wong says he believes the bottle was filled with backwash — along with water — and it has caused serious irritation to his eyes. Wong says he’s going to a doctor to get his eyes checked. League sources tell TMZ Sports … Wong was ejected from the game 3 to 5 minutes after the spraying incident for “taunting the players” and it was while he was being escorted out of the arena that he began to rub his eyes, complaining about the pain."
Conversely, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told CBS Chicago that Crawford is not the subject of any police investigation. It's unclear if the battery charges against him were already dismissed or if they ever existed in the first place.

I think you're splitting hairs trying to differentiate the hits, both were late blind side shots and you could see moore follow through with the elbow so the intent was there.
I completely agree with not basing suspensions on injuries I've made that argument a million times but the league is so ass backwards with this it's infuriating
NYR are starting to play like hte bruins. Don't get fucking dragged down in the MTL bullshit - keep playing the NYR style of game and they'll be fine
I can't believe you're trying to equate the two hits. They were somewhat similar in intention but they were definitely different. Moore didn't "lift" to make sure to make contact with the head, he simply skated through him. Prust left his feet in order to send his elbow into the face. It's just like in football where you can't lunge up to make head contact, but if you go straight through people it isn't nearly as serious. FYI this is coming from a rangers fan so take that for what it's worth
Also, fuck not talking about the embellishment issues, the Habs are a punch of floppin pussies. I haven't seen a single instance in this series where the rangers have done anything similar. The NHL is starting to look like the NBA more and more every day.
For some reason when I was watching last night I didn't think weiss was playing the puck which made it worse

Prust went shoulder right into the head of Stepan, and I think Moore's chicken wing is at least shows there was intent to target head
I still think Moore will get 2 games no question, but I could see how people could argue only a 1 game suspension especially given the fact taht weiss came back (stupid)
Granite_StateI'm gonna disagree. He has been very average at best. 4 goals in two periods, thats nothing to be proud about. Price is miles above this guy.

ZimmermanBullshit. Moore's hit was a shoulder, Prust's was a classic Cookie style elbow to the kisser. A little late and a little high, but to equate it to Prust's hit is ludicrous. He should get 1 game.
And I don't agree with basing punishment decisions on post-facto inurjuries (a dangerous hit worth a 10 game suspension can be walked away from safely, and a clean hit can paralyze someone for life) but either way, that's how he league does it and Brassard was hurt and Weiss was not.
They'll definitely give 2 games but that's just because the league loves to pussyfoot with equal punishments as if it were actually more fair.
This being said, perhaps Prust deserved another game. But my point is, they are NOT the same hit, and should not be treated that way.

^on that note why do pros who need jaw protection wear a face guard and also a visor? i can't imagine it would give any better vision than a standard combo mask and looks like it would be more of a pain to deal with.
Xanadooi also have been totally unimpressed with tokarski. well except for his glove. his glove is nasty. he has awful rebound control and awareness. dude does not track the puck well. he also sells out completely to make the first save and over commits sometimes.
It's not like he's a super young goalie playing in some of his first nhl games let alone playoff games with about as much pressure as you can get. He's playing great given the circumstances.

yeah i mean youre right its a tough situation to come into but things like not being able to find the puck or controlling rebounds arent things that are really affected by nerves in my experience as a goalie. playing goalie while nervous tends to affect your positioning more than anything (could be the explanation for why he has been over aggressive at times). it also can lead to letting in soft goals even when you are positioned correctly, when the shot gets through you and it shouldnt have.
what i will say for tokarski is he gives 110% effort on every shot and he doesnt seem to be afraid of the moment. his puck awareness is just really poor
id love to hear some other goalies weigh in and hear what they think
thank god the hawks live to fight another day. still don't see them taking the next game in LA. LA just looks too damn good and they seem to be getting all of the fucking bounces. hawks don't seem to want it bad enough. i swear to god Saad was the only player on the hawks that wanted that game and actually played like it....he seemed to be the only one hustling....

Saad should be getting all of the credit for that game. He's the only player that showed any heart and desire from the mid-2nd pd through the end of the game.
I don't fucking know how the Kings are playing better Hawks hockey than the Hawks are, but I really hope CHI gets their heads out of their asses.

I think that LA team is just really fucking good. Everytime the hawks come out bangin and full of energy the kings never falter in their game play. They just weather the storm and play with complete confidence in their ability to win any game. It's a damn shame such a good team is wasted on that fan base.
After the way CHI put an early whooping on LA last night you would have thought they'd be a little shell shocked, instead they just battled back and made a game out of it
Plus I think crawford is dealing with something. He just doesnt look quite right and while a lot of the goals can be blamed on his D performing poorly in front of him either thru screening him or failing to clear out tons of rebounds , something just looks off when he's out there

Or maybe - and I realize this sounds crazy but bear with me - the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks are a good hockey team with a lot of playoff experience and history stepping up when it counts, and won a game with their backs against the wall.
