It's just his on ice persona. He's dirty, he's cheap, he dives. Granted he plays with tons of heart and energy and is incredibly talented but a lot of that is negated by the way he acts on ice for people outside of the canadians fan base. It's a double edged sword tho because if you took away the dirty chippyness of subban, you take away a large part of what makes him so effective as a player

He is the kind of player you hate to play against, but love to have play for you. He does what it takes to win, even if it is despicable at times, and in the end, that is what matters. He is like Paul Pierce, he walks the walk and can talk the talk and you hate him for it, but all that matters in the end is winning and he knows how to do that.
He also is not an outspoken SOB outside of his arena, like LBJ or TO, but actually quite humble like Peyton Manning or Brady. LBJ is extremely talented, but whines about things off the court like no one else. You see Peyton and Brady off the field, they tend to leave that on-field persona there.
Hats off to Mtl, it sucks having to put up with you and NYR fans for the rest of the playoffs, and lets go Ducks/Hawks!

Im pumped for this Rangers vs Habs series. Honestly i feel really good about the rangers chances. Lundqvist is going harder than a muthafucka and we've gotten to the conference finals despite the fact that our best scorer has yet to score a goal. kreider is back and all our depth players have been doing an incredible job putting up points. also our pp is finally starting to get going.
Im real worried about Subban though. excluding goalies he is definitely the most dynamic player in the series.
overall MTL prolly has more skilled players up and down their roster but i feel like the Ranger have more two way players and more chemistry (especially on our bottom 3 lines). also Lundqvist just doesnt lose game 7s which helps
