Chicago gets the lockout cup for the summer. Lets start next season off, and hope somebody fucking new wins it, damnit. Summer transactions are up soon, so this should get started fast.
Fuck LA.

Bar_DownHoly fuckin Carey Price. We were lucky to win that one, I think I had 73 heart attacks during that game.
VinnieFis Vanek injured?
shredding_pandaI don't think so. He was just put on the fourth line
.MASSHOLE.As a unschooled hockey watcher, removing all bias (I hope), it seems like he was the difference in the game along with his two posts. Boston seemed to get a few weak PP called against them, but someone with more knowledge may know better. Either way, going to be a hell of a series.
Bar_DownPoor little Davey though, how many times did he get completely owned by Chara in the corner? lol
Ski_the_east01Albert: "It's like an eclipse"
Piere: *sings* "total eclipse of the habbbb"
fucking pierre......
Ski_the_east01He absolutely was, he is the type of goalie that can steal games and last night was a perfect example.
The only call I didn't like was the first weise trip or whatever the PK scored off of...he got hit in the quads and went down...? Other than that the knee/trip by paille and the final bartkowski hold were both good calls. I think the refs were good last night - they kept out of the game by not trying to control too much but also nipped stuff in the ass when it could have gotten out of control (marchand/mtl guy) matching penalties at end of 2nd period
I'm going to try and think of all the b's opportunities missed
Dougie post
Lucic fan on open net
Marchand blocks shot in crease that was going in
Krug dances on top of crease with price down and open net
Krecji post
Iginla open net on his own reboud shoots wide
Krecji twice all alone backside and misses open net
Campbell open net
Smith w/ puck in crease just dead price no idea where it is
Bergeron alone top of crease wide open side puts puck wide
Thornton backhand with nasty price save
Too bad opportunities don't mean shit..only thing that matters is now you're down 1-0 in series

b-kulyou forgot soderberg sliding it through the crease in ot. overall I'm not worried though, if boston keeps the same intensity eventually it will break their way.
speedinpaille is a bitch, what a cheap move. What constitutes a suspension for knee on knee? Does the player have to be injured. A few inches lower and I think it would have been a different story, injury wise.

Aren't those Boston fans just a classy bunch? Funny how they forgot Subban's brother is on their farm team.
b-kulI'm certainly not defending it but to isolate boston fans as the only guilty party is stupid. how many times have we seen the same thing happen to a number of athletes around the country.

steezboxAbsolutely true, though the hatred between Montreal and Boston runs very deep. I doubt that such comments would have occurred would Montreal have played against any other team.
But yes, that does indicate a larger trend which is quite fucked up.
Xanadoothat being said MTL really should have lost that game. BOS had so many opportunities where there was absolutely no way Price wouldve been able to get to the puck to make the save and missed the net/puck on all of them. that was the biggest difference in the game imo. if this is an indication of how the series is gonna go MTL is in trouble

pimp.handsseems to me like its the biggest story in hockey right now
steezboxNaw, I definitely agree with all of you. Chances are its just bandwaggoners and people who don't even watch hockey at all, but have this "'Murica" mindset. Just really pisses me off to see that happen.
Unfortunately, I'm sure my fellow habs fans will find something that will make us look like total assholes as well.
That being said, I'm excited for the series. Habs vs. Bruins is always something else to watch. Montreal just better get their ass in gear for next game, because that was too close.
pimp.handsracism and Bahstin fans go hand in hand.
Racism and bigotry are as common in Bahstin as clan chowder.
According to Montreal media monitoring and analysis company Influence Communications, the N-word and Subban's name were used in conjunction on 17,000 tweets yesterday, although the majority of them were not negative.
Clarifications
A previous version of this story reported that a racial epithet was trending online in Boston during Game 1 of the Bruins-Canadiens series. While the word was mentioned on social networks, it was not trending on Twitter.
b-kuli gotta admit i heard some of pk subban's post game interview and it gave me a greater respect for him. very humble, well spoken, and all around class act.
pimp.handskinda weird that nobody in here is talking about the torts firing so i guess ill chime in on it... seems to me like its the biggest story in hockey right now.

DingoSeanYou know... minus the whole fact that the NHL playoffs are in full swing.
...the torts firing only really appeals to Canucks fans, and honestly, the hire was pretty silly in my opinion. Vancouver's a mess right now because they basically blew up a very good team just for the sake of change when they really didn't need to.
