Chicago gets the lockout cup for the summer. Lets start next season off, and hope somebody fucking new wins it, damnit. Summer transactions are up soon, so this should get started fast.

First of all regular season stats doesn't mean anything in the head to head. I've seen Montreal own Philly in the regular season a few years ago and then proceed to lose in 5. Vice versa with the Bruins both ways. Any hockey fan who has followed a team for more then a year can tell you this. Chicago has been there, they know what it takes to win the cup while Minnesota doesn't. Minnesota also bought most of their talent, teams are built through the draft and not UFA / trades.
Prime example, Tampa destroyed Montreal at even strength during the regular season (despite close games since Price played amazing). Playoffs start and Montreal dominates them at even strength, it isn't even a contest there. You can say they didn't have bishop but bishop isnt going to prevent shots against himself and put them up against Price.
i had the sharks in the final, avalanche sharks in the western conference finals, bruins losing to the red wings, and canadiens lightning going 7. rangers and pens is the only series in the second round where i got both teams correct.

1. Experience. Yeah, that's some BULLSHIT ass reasoning, but it does play a part. The 2nd season is a whole other ballgame when it comes to intensity, and Chicago has a lot of experience stepping up their play when it counts. It's almost as stupid as saying that the most dangerous lead is 2 goals, or that having an ugly girlfriend will give a player low confidence in the game, but there is something intangible to it that does give some advantage.
2. Regular season does not always translate to the level of play that the playoffs brings - See the San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, and Montreal Canadiens for the last.. well.. almost forever..
3. Chicago has Jonathan Toes and he's like, rly good at being serious or something that makes him a great captain and so they win...? (see what I wrote for #1)
4. The Wild have their like... 15th string goalie starting... and I'm pretty sure Bryzgalov has his mind on last week's Cosmos episode rather than the game.
5. Because Dany Heatley must never win. (Sens fans)
So the wild stepping up in the series with CO means nothing? The wild have a horrible regular season record against playoff teams, besides chicago. It just seems pretty one sided in the predictions i've seen so far. More so then with CO even though the wild match up better with chicago imo.
The Wild bought their talent??? Parise, Suter, Pommenville. Who else is considered bought talent? Don't get me started on heatley. The guys getting the clutch goals in the CO series were not bought talent for the most part. Want to talk about bought talent, how about almost every goaltender on a playoff team?

IMO, I think that the wild have a chance because chicago isn't as strong this year as they have been in the past, and we're stronger than we were last playoffs season- in which round 1 we took 1 game (should have been 2). But we have momentum, and I definitely dont think we'll get swept. But keep in mind that we're on 5th-ish string goalie, we're not typically consistent, and although we rock at getting shots up, we're terrible at scoring. But still, I genuinely think theres a chance!
price, lunquist, quick, crawford all came up through their system. task was bought but really rose to prominence in boston. i would consider them the elite goalies left in the playoffs.

Taking 7 games to beat the luckiest team in the west doesn't equal momentum. The hawks dusted the blues in 6 games after losing the first two.
Obviously the wild have a chance, lucky bounces, bad officiating and injuries will all have to go in their way to win.

Its the first friggen round, don't get too excited. Its the same as Montreal sweeping Tampa, it was cool but not even a real challenge and doesn't really push Montreal any closer as a major contender.

because regular season records usually dont mean a lot when it comes to the playoffs. im pretty sure the wings had a good record against the bruins this year, and look what happened to them.

Wow, carey price is a god. That game was crazy and the B's were dominating all of the first OT it felt... I screamed like a little girl every habs goal, and im glad Briere got the assist too. Gonna be one hell of a series, I'm gonna be at fuckin west point on saturday tho.... fuuuck. at least im not missing a more important game like 6 or 7
