Chicago gets the lockout cup for the summer. Lets start next season off, and hope somebody fucking new wins it, damnit. Summer transactions are up soon, so this should get started fast.

I realize you're trying to make a joke, but no. The only sweater I've owned was a Habs sweater when I was really young. Used to be a bit more into them till maybe grade 7/8 when I become more of a Sens fan. I just haven't been able to justify buying a sweater since they cost so damn much. Leafs are third.
But there are a huge amount of diehard Sens fans in and around Ottawa. What you see at CTC during Leafs games isn't very representative. Probably cause it's cheaper to drive to Ottawa and get a good ticket than to just get the good ticket in Toronto.

It's actually pretty funny, some years Bettman / the NHL is conspiring to make sure that large American markets are in the finals to maximize profit, other years it's smaller american markets because they want to grow the game's popularity in those markets, and now here we have the NHL desperately trying to keep the last Canadian team in it.
People always pull the conspiracy card out and change the narrative to fit the facts.

I'm not really sure why you got all defensive about conspiracy talk...no one in this thread brought up anything about the league or anyone tryin to do shit with the MTL/TB series
I've been able to watch every game of the playoffs this year aside from the 3OT and a couple other late night westerners...this was the worst call of the playoffs (so far) which is why its getting so much coverage
And to your point about Therrien/MTL media could you imagine if they were down 2-0 in the series and the habs had an obvious go ahead goal taken off the board down in Tampa? It would be insane....

man in cheering for montreal, last canadian team left. but when you try to get out of the net and can't because a player is blocking you, it should nullify the crease rule.

Fuck, I'm okay with Chicago, enjoy watching them play and Duncan Keith is a pillar on defence, but fuck would I love to see him get fucking crushed even if it's next season, hopefully someone from st louis
Yeah that was very unfortunate!! Kind of puts a bad light on an otherwise terrific game for the Wild. I hate to think if it was intentional knee hit by Cooke. Does it warrant 5+ game suspension when Seabrook got 3 for almost decapitating Backus. Idk. So many inconsistencies
Anyway, The Wild dominated the entire game, but Varly was incredible!

Doubt it, I mean he's a pretty good guy so I'd hate to think he would ever purposely try and injure someone. If they give him any significant suspension over seabrook's 3 games, a guy who has never been suspended before, it would probably just be overkill. He's such a quality player and stand up professional and widely respected across the league so maybe a 2 game suspension MAX is fitting for this definitely not on purpose hit

Seriously, total stand-up guy, plays the game the right way and never does anything dangerous. Although weirdly, I actually have some vague memory of thinking he was actually a dirty player. But I don't really remember it very clearly since I was playing shinny and some guy wearing 24 elbowed me in the head. I'm probably just confused though, Cooke's a good guy. I get confused a lot these days...

Having both watched and played I can confidently say that yes, you can learn almost everything there is to know from solely watching hockey. Did you see her post earlier? She's been watching hockey for longer than you or I have been alive. She was a season ticket holder since Minnesota entered the NHL. I see all these people get bent out of shape over her posts because she showed up in this thread for playoffs. So what? From what I read she seems to know what she's talking about. I've been following the B's mostly and some other teams for the whole season but I rarely post in this thread during the reg. season. There is always more people in this thread during playoffs (at least the last 3-4 years I've been following it). Stop fucking caring so much.
Unrelated, I too thought Dubinsky could have pulled off the last second scoring chance. Sucks they blew a 3-1 lead in the 3rd but as they say, a 2 goal lead is the most dangerous in hockey.

In high school my good friend when leg to leg, and broke his femur. That looked very painful.
fucking cooke eh. sticking a knee out on someone is so dirty. and it's not even the injury, it's the intent. you can actually destroy someone's career very very easily with that kind of move. knees are so fragile.
