Chicago gets the lockout cup for the summer. Lets start next season off, and hope somebody fucking new wins it, damnit. Summer transactions are up soon, so this should get started fast.

Had my annual playoff pool yesterday and it didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I ended up leaning heavily on St. Louis and Tampa Bay. Hopefully Tampa's goaltending doesn't kill them and STL can get themselves relatively healthy.

I think the CHI/STL matchup is prime for upset because of all the extenuating circumstances with both teams. Toews and Kane playing in game one is absolutely huge for CHI

Also, Vegas has CHI at 8-1 odds to win the cup...if I had some gamblin money laying around that is probably exactly where I'd throw it.

me too. definitely wishful thinking picking the rangers to win it all and the bruins to lose in the first round...

i have the sharks in the finals in the west though. idk why but i just have a feeling this is the year they go beast mode in the playoffs

Maybe an upset as far as vegas odds goes, considering they have STL at 6-1.
However, if the Hawks beat the blues, I would not consider it an upset by any means.

If the Habs beat Tampa ill paypal you 5 bucks. If they win the cup Ill shave all my pubes and glue them to my face.

None of the 2/3 series are "upset"-capable. Whoever wins, it won't be an upset. They're all close.

Now, MIN / COL and ANA / DAL would be upsets if the wild card wins, but neither would surprise me at all.

FINALLY the habs/lightning game is getting going. The 1st period was pretty meh but the 2nd has been very exciting as teams are getting scrappy

CBJ/PIT game has been brutal - there have been some absolutely thumping hits

The angle made it look like it couldn't be anything but a hook. I thought it should've been called too, but it's the same story as every year with it taking a game or so to figure out how much guys can get away with.

Dallas did come back in that game pretty strong. A bad period happens - especially to inexperienced teams, it's how you come back afterwards that counts. They won the rest of the game 3-0. That's a lot of momentum going into game. 3.

Yeah he was not good in the beginning of the game but was absolutely amazing in OT. TBL had a TON of chances in OT and could have easily won that game if price played like he did in early regulation but he was crazy late in thegame

There was some pretty sloppy play defensively from both teams last night; costly turnovers. Hopefully the Habs can clean that shit up. I was pretty impressed with Mtl's forecheck though.

44-23 in shots is just unacceptable for the Lightning. You've got your backup in there, how do you allow that to happen? Stamkos was ridiculous, though, it must be said.

Now that my 2nd pool has been completed, here are the teams I'm cheering for.

Pittsburgh
Colorado
Tampa Bay
Dallas

Could be better. Though just looking at that list, a Pittsburgh / Colorado final might be the most fun thing to watch ever.
