The Canucks are currently shopping around Alex Edler and Corey Schneider. Asking price for Schneider is apparently a top ten pick in this year's draft plus a high-level prospect, which seems about right. No idea what the asking price for Edler is.

I am grudgingly okay with trading Schneider as long as Luongo is fine with changing his mind to stay and play in Vancouver. He remains, by a small margin, the better goalie of the two, and GMs have gotten to a point of ridiculousness with their demands on the trade front. However, I don't want Edler traded. Borderline #1 defensemen in their mid 20's with five year deals at 5M AAV do not exist. I'd want something utterly ridiculous for him, a la Voracek + Couturier or Colorado's first overall. Basically, a significant overpayment.

Do not understand. Clutterbuck is a useful player, El Nino is a potential first line forward. Dumb ass trade. The Isles don't need a role player to get to the next level. They need a goddamn goalie.

I thought they'd get more than the 9th pick, though. They better take Nichuskin. That's a top 5 level pick. But they passed up the Oilers' offer, too, which was the #7 pick PLUS a 2nd and a prospect. Question: does Luongo come back?

This is a bad, bad idea. I can't believe this. Bad bad idea. If you trade him and get Nichuskin, okay, I get it, but this? Horvat is a 10-15 pick who may be inflated in value by playing with Max Domi.

Who else feels like Mackinnon is about to be a total bust at #1...

I don't really get the idea of trading up from 20 to 18 just to get Muller. I like his height, and I don't mind drafting a stayathome D-man, but I feel like he's going to take FOREVER to develop, and could just be another Petreki.. I would have rather kept the 58th, got Shinkurak or Mantha (since our Forward prospect depth is BAD) and kept it as such... especially after trading the other 2nd rnder for Tyler Kennedy.

...Which I'm pretty damn stoked about. a #50 for an aggressive forchecker who has some speed and plays pretty awesome 3rd line minutes? I love guys like that. He doesn't PK much, but I'm happy, for sure.

I just hope we can sign him to around 2 million... we're running out of space.

Well I think Roy was aware of who he was drafting consider he watched Mackinnon tear his minor league team up for about three years. I like the pick. The Avs took the best player available, Jones isn't ready for this league yet. There is a video out there of Mackinnon owning Jones for entire game so Im sure that played into the Avs decision.

The Avs have a bright future with the likes of Ryan O'Reilly, Duchene, Landy, Parenteau, and now Mackinnon. These guys in there prime will be a force to be reckoned with for sure. They also brought back Alex Tangay which is pretty cool.

Now I know they need some big help on the defensive side of the ice, but I think that Roy will really be able to clean things up there by bringing in the likes of Adam Foote to help.

Not a huge fan of montreals first few picks. I feel like mb had a huge hand in this rather then let timmons do his job. Seems like they are drafting for size rather then bap.

Seriously, why pass Zykov and Hartman? Perfect compliments to galchenyuk. Stoked on fucale though. Surprised so many passed on him

I just feel like Mackinnon is going to come into the NHL, and won't be able to produce or play as physical against NHLers...

I really don't see how the top 3 passed on Jones. Yeah, he's not refined or pro-ready, but neither are the teams drafting. None of them are going to win the cup with what they have next season, so what gives. The potential, talent, and the size Jones possesses are just unparalleled. With Colorado and the Florida teams, that's a match made in heaven what with their troubles on the backend. Give him a year or so, and he'll be a monster - especially in a Trotz system playing with the likes of Weber. Holy shitballs they must be PUMPED.

I just don't feel that way about Mackinnon or Drouin at all. Both are very good players, but man. I don't know.

As for what Florida is doing with Barkov? I have ZERO idea there.

Also, how the FUCK did Nichushkin fall to 10? He should have gone #5 with Carolina, although I don't mind them picking Lindholm, I still question it. Why Vancouver didn't jump on him is baffling. I can see why JD wanted to throw up...

Stoked on mantha. 50 goals in 67 games, almost 40 assists last season. Was the leading scorer in the quebec juniors. Sounds like playmaker, though he needs to work on his D game apparently. Nastasiuk looks promising. Not much said about bertuzzi's nephew and the swede they picked up so far. Satisfied with the draft so far.

Oh and regarding the bolland situation. Frees up a ton of cap space for the hawks but I feel like hes not going to perform as well. No where near the depth that the hawks have.

The Shinkaruk thing almost makes up for it. Him playing with Schroeder makes me drool a little. But even so Horvat doesn't make sense. 2nd line forward at best.

That's fucking awesome. I've always had a lot of love for Jersey as it was the first NHL game I ever saw when I was like 10 years old and just getting in to hockey. I've been watching Marty play for his entire career. You just can't not love the guy....such an amazing goalie. His son has some BIG shoes to fill...

I took some more time to read into all their picks. They went for pure need this year drafting a goalie and big forwards. Vs last year when it was pretty much all skill / goal scoarers. I'm really happy with fucale though. Always cool for a French Canadian to be drafted by Montreal.

Well, looks like we basically just got a 4th rounder for McGinn, after trading Galiardi to the Flames and letting Winnik go last year... Sharks fans are going to complaaaaiiin. (for some reason, a lot of dingbat sharks fans thought McGinn was good or something)

...AKA who cares. Tyler Kennedy is way better.

I don't really think it's THAT bad... Would be a lot better if we could cut Havlat's stupid useless body off the team and his cap-hit with him...

As far as draft picks? I would have liked us to have just used all of them to bolster the system and just resigned everyone. I don't really like the trade up to get Mueller, as there were plenty of players in the slot we were in that I would have been happy with, but I don't mind adding a solid D-man prospect. but oh well. I do like Tyler Kennedy - especially if he signs for his QO.

and Galiardi is too much of a wild card for me to care about - although I'd love to have him for the 1yr@1.25 that Calgary got him for. I think he's also worth at least a 3rd rounder, but at least Calgary's 4th will be high.

Bringing back Desjardins and Sheppard for sub-million contracts was nice.

Plus, having guys like Hertl and Tennyson stepping up in the ranks could definitely be fun. Those guys have lots of upside - especially Hertl.

Don't the flyers have too many centers? Incoming trade perhaps. I guess Philly is a good place to stay low key unless you are a goaltender.
