eh i think them missing the playoffs will really teach them what they're missing in a team. offseason only means nixing all the shitty players, and getting more young guns in there with keeping the veterans.

If MTL didn't miss a fuck ton of shots in the first this could have been a very different game...I can distinctly remember gionta, plek and patch missing easy shots and breakaways

haha what a strange name..I figured there were plenty of similar programs out there. Speaking of which has anyone watched 'NHL revealed' on NBCSN? They've done such a dick shit job promoting that show I think last night was the first commercial I've ever seen...it looks like a cool show same premise as all these 24/7 style follow arounds but with more teams because it follows the stadium series.

Really NBC? You had to add in a *ping* noise to stir the pot?

I'm not saying I agree entirely with it, I'm just saying it has some good points.
And exactly with your last point. Sports are so different that you almost shouldn't compare toughness between them because blocking frozen pucks isn't part of say...basketball so how can you say that a basketball player wouldn't block a shot if he were in that position. And if it's part of the game it's normal to expect to get hurt. You don't expect to step on somebodies foot and destroy your ankle when you drive in basketball so if it happens you're going to react.

That's why I said its one of the best parts, I get that some people don't like the fighting aspect but that's how a lot of players stay protected. Last year when Shawn Thornton hit one of the sabres small players, John Scott went to him and beat the day lights out of him. It's kind of like a protection system that's extremely entertaining.

good ol reffing in montreal on display yet again.

nahhh i guess it wasn't tooooooo bad. the sens pissed that one away themselves. but really, in overtime when the puck is jammed into the goalie for like 3 seconds and players are allowed to whack at him until it comes loose, that's a little ridiculous. whistle has to go before that..

crazy game though. sens are bad. habs are mostly bad but ok enough to be in the playoffs, much like the leafs. nobody is beating boston though. they're fucking ridiculous right now in the east. and then nobody from the east could beat any of the top 5 teams in the west.

It's official. The refs in montreal are bribed. That was utter garbage. absolute fucking garbage. Someone explain to me, why was the whistle not called? Also add to that all the absolute bs penalty calls against ottawa (both goaltender interference calls good examples).

The puck was 100% covered and out of sight of the ref for a significant amount of time before it got wacked at enough so it was visible to the ref (but still covered) then it was wacked at more till it came loose. There is nothing anyone could say to argue the whistle shouldn't have been blown without spewing bullshit.
