I'm in the market for new pants (mine have tons of holes in them), and I've been looking into some bib pants. Are they significantly warmer? I don't want to end up being too warm and sweating because of the bib. I'm specifically looking at the north face skull horns. Also any suggestion on some other khaki snow pants or bibs would be nice.
Bibs really dont add extra warmth (unless the bases of it start around the tits) which unless it was made in 1980 it probably doesnt. Bottom line: Bibs serve the purpose of keeping your pants up, not for warmth.
They're slightly warmer as in none of your body skin will ever be remotely exposed. Snow in your crack/anywhere else on your waist will never happen again.
