Does anyone still use newschoolers e-mail?

Just a random thing I was thinking about this morning. Does anyone still use NS e-mail? I remember it from back in the day. I think I actually made an account but didn't use it. I would be very surprised if this was still used by anyone on this site.

THat system is brutal. We actually really want to retire it, as there's so many of these things just used for spamming / throwaway - and we're forced to use that shitty system for our work email. :(

Anyone mind if we nuke the whole thing? Does anyone use it?

it's actually funny to think about this. what if you gave a newer member on this site your newschoolers e-mail to contact you at? a lot of them would probably assume you worked for newschoolers.

Didn't we have this debate a few summers ago? I think the unanimous vote was to trash it, but you (admins) couldn't because it had some correlation with the server or something.

Slightly longer ago than that likely... yes this used to be the case but we've unravelled more parts of it. It was a massive disaster TBH that has taken a long time to get out of.

The company that hosts the emails too has wanted to get out of the free email business, so the functionality is garbage too.

We might send out a mass email to all the accounts and see how many people actually still use them. Last thing I want to do is shut down someones's account without warning.

I still think though that the nuking time has come.

Sadly we retired this service completely. We now only have our company accounts, which we save for staff and certain contributors that get up to a heavier point of involvement with us.

So keep at your content kick and maybe we can get there. :)
